La Prendina Pinot Bianco Garda DOC
Description: The Azienda Agricola La Prendina was acquired in 1958 and at first the wines were sold under the Cavalchina brand. The first wine to use the name of La Prendina was a Merlot bottled in 1980 for Gualtiero Marchesi, but it was only in 1990 that the wines were sold under the name La Prendina. An excellent varietal, but often rather temperamental to cultivate, it produces a wine that is medium bodied and with a fresh, clean flavour. The grapes are picked during the early part of September, pressed and the must is fermented at 18 0 C for about two weeks. Next the wine is taken off the lees and there is no malolactic fermentation. Finally, it is bottled in December to retain its freshness and released from the beginning of January. In the vineyard La Prendina aims to grow full flavoured concentrated grapes while the task in the cellar is to express the nature of the grape and terroir. This has produced an absolutely delicious blend of citrus fruit and balancing acidity that shows just how good the Pinot Bianco variety can be. (12 x 75 cl)

Bellavista CONVENTO DELLA SS.MA ANNUNCIATA Terre di Franciacorta Bianco DOC
Description: Complex perfumes of dried flowers and vanilla are followed by a wonderfully balanced, intense palate with ripe apricot fruit and integrated oak flavour. Entrepreneur Vittorio Moretti's success in the building industry allowed him to indulge his passion for wine in the creation of a small estate. It began virtually as a hobby, but over the years it became the focus of Moretti's work. With the gifted enologist Mattia Vezzola at the helm since 1980, Bellavista now produce wines of real finesse and individuality. The 50 hectares of vineyards are cultivated according to organic principles, and planting densities are high in order to limit yields per vine. In cellars carved into the hillside above Lake Iseo, vinification reflects both avant garde techniques and many of the traditions of Champagne. Long ageing on the lees in bottle is de rigueur for the sparkling wines, and the barrique is employed with great subtlety. For the Franciacorta wines, 40% of the juice is barrel-fermented. The resulted house style is characterised by an elegant balance, classy yeasty nose, a very fine perlage and persistent mousse (12 x 75 cl)
