Azienda Agricola Pelissero is a family-run vine-growing estate located in the district of Treiso, in the heart of Barbaresco. Many gradual changes have been performed by the successive generations of the Pelisseros, who transformed the grape-selling activity started by Giovanni Pelissero into winemaking of all the estate-grown grapes. Winemaking takes place in a cellar surrounded by vineyards situated in a zone called Augenta. The first bottles of wine dated back to 1960 and were produced by Luigi Pelissero, whose work was followed by his son, Oenologist Giorgio who, after finishing his studies, decided to work full time at the winery. The Pelissero family takes care of all the activities from pruning the vines to marketing the wine. The estate consists of twenty hectares of vineyards which yield a total of 80,000 to 100,000 bottles of wine. Ageing takes place for about 8 to 9 months in two ways with 20 to 30 % in barriques and the rest in oak casks. Then, the two parts are blended and the resulting wine is left to rest in the bottle for a further two months before being released for sale. Made from top quality Nebbiolo this wine is showing very rich sweet fruit, round tannins and an elegant aromatic quality. (12 x 75 cl)

Poderi Colla BRICO del DRAGO Langhe Rosso DOC Piemonte
Description: Very intense, deep ruby red, with the purple reflections typical of young Dolcetto; the bouquet surprises with exceptional elegance and ideal interplay of Nebbiolo and Dolcetto : a chorus where Nebbiolo gives the peak performance and Dolcetto the background. Spicy and/or vinous notes characteristic of the two varieties, mellowed by aging. Very rich but non-aggressive, an all-around food wine for special occasions and complex, structured dishes. Blends famously include some of the world's most prestigious wines: our Bricco may well be the most historic and authentically Italian interpretation. Serve at 17/19º C., in an ample glass. Bricco del Drago was first released in 1969 and was the first ''Super Vino da Tavola'' in the Piedmont, possibly the first in Italy. Thanks to this long-standing reputation, Bricco del Drago may soon be recognized as an individual, specific DOC, ''Bricco del Drago''. Since 1995 vintage it is a Langhe Rosso DOC. The reason behind this wine is the incredible complexity and structure with which this soil endows Dolcetto, rendering it far from the forward wine it usually is. This particular Dolcetto, with the addition of a small percentage of Nebbiolo bestowing greater finesse and elegance, and after a judiciously timed sojourn in wood, is a complex, pleasing wine of superb breed and extraordinary longevity. Beacause of these distinguishing traits, Dr. Degiacomi, who created the wine, wisely choose to employ cru name rather than varietal name to identify it. IN THE VINEYARD Varieties : 85% Dolcetto (6 x 75 cl)

Bava ALTRASERRE Monferrato Bianco DOC Piedmont
Description: Tasting Bright straw yellow; smooth, rich taste with a slight, very chic woody note that reinforces its impressive longevity. The Chardonnay is fermented in wood for ten months, while the Cortese is fermented and aged strictly in steel vats, to reinforce its freshness: once blended and bottled, they are aged for a prolonged period. Grape Varieties and Vineyards Two strains, Cortese and Chardonnay, from our vineyards in Monferrato at Cocconato. Created over ten years ago to prove that a region famous for its reds can also produce a white wine of true stature, fascinating and modern in character. Alteserre is a wine of breed, reliable and elegant. Its refinement has proved to stand the test of time, with an allure worthy of a grand Cru, providing the ideal accompaniment for dishes of international haute cuisine. Today, Alteserre is a proven success, and no one is surprised any longer to see a white that is aged several years and is available in various vintages and in magnum bottles, for vertical tastings, as if it were a Barolo, or a Barbera Superiore (6 x 75 cl)

Bava Monferrato Nebbiolo Vigneti di Cadodo Piedmont
Description: Tasting Outstandingly supple, enjoyable both fresh and aged, thanks to its ripe, soft tannins. A very expressive wine, suave, modern, and seductive. Grape Varieties Two thirds Nebbiolo, one third Barbera and Merlot Vineyard from one single vineyard, a cru at Tuffo near Cocconato d'Asti. Wine Production The grapes are fermented separately in steel vats. Ten months in oak. The bricco di Cadodo cru is an ideal location, the name designates a hill on whose crest the Bavas have patiently tended their vines ever since the 17th century. The wine, whose label bears the new Monferrato DOC designation, is an interesting example of how Nebbiolo, a variety of noble tradition, when planted in the Monferrato area, a short distance from the Langa, its land of origin and choice, can produce a new wine with an old heart. Thanks to the Barbera and the Merlot integrating the map of varieties planted in the Cadodo vineyards, the qualities of this wine are enhanced by the limestone and chalk in the soils of this terroir. It is endowed with natural elegance and drinkability, in tune with modern Italian trends. (6 x 75 cl)
