Kingston Estate SARANTOS Soft Press Shiraz South Eastern Australia
Description: Kingston Estate Wines has grown rapidly since Sarantos and Constantina Moularadellis first developed their 40 acre vineyard in 1979 in South Australia's Riverland wine region. Today, Kingston is the 10th largest wine producer in Australia and remains one of Australia's largest family-owned wineries. Sarantos, named after one of Kingston Estate owners is an easy drinking range of wines. Using only the best quality fruit and adopting the practice of soft pressing so that only free run juice is used in the winemaking process. This has resulted in a range of wines showing full fruit characters. This is a rich and warming wine style with infinite drinkability. Grapes were selected from vineyards throughout South Australia including the Clare Valley, Adelaide Plains and the Riverland. Parcels of fruit which showed generous fruit concentration were identified and treated in the Soft Press winemaking style. After crushing the grape skins were handled gently to maximize the variety's pure and clean flavours during the ensuing fermentation process. Only a small portion of the wine was matured with American and French oak with the intention being to allow maximum fruit expression and the oak adding subtle complexity. The Sarantos Shiraz is a deep plum red colour while on the nose it has rich licorice, chocolate, plums, dark berry fruits and subtle spiciness and is very much like a warm Christmas fruit pudding. These attractive flavours continue onto the palate and are fused with soft charry characters and maraschino cherries. For all its depth of flavour and intensity it has surprisingly soft tannins and acid, typical of the 'Soft Press' style. (12 x 75 cl)

Kingston Estate SARANTOS Soft Press Chardonnay Riverland South Australia
Description: Sarantos Chardonnay is a wine specifically designed to complement and reflect the easy-going relaxed lifestyle we Australian 's enjoy today. Whether this wine is enjoyed with friends at many of the thousands of Al fresco styled cafes that we have embraced as a nation,or whether it be a quiet night at home relaxing;Sarantos Chardonnay is the perfect partner for any occasion. The criterion for putting this wine together was that it must have universal appeal and above all must be easy to drink. For this we looked towards viticultural areas that we knew would provide us Chardonnay fruit that would be complementary to one another.Consequently we decided on the full rich fruit flavours derived from the Riverland and Sunraysia areas.By night harvesting and only using the free run juice for this Chardonnay we have produced a wine delicate and full of fruit flavours. The use of static fermenters, neutral yeasts and cold fermentation over a period of 2 to 3 weeks, has produced a clean, crisp, contemporay style of Chardonnay. With only 5%French Oak treatment just a hint of added flavour complexity has also been achieved. The result is a wine light straw in colour, with wonderful peach and tropical fruit aromas. The palate is dry and crisp with a clean elegant finish reminiscent of lychee and melon. With just a hint of acid on the finish, this wine is a delight to drink. Ashbury Grove Chardonnay Reserve South Eastern Australia
Description: This deep yellow coloured Chardonnay has an enticingly fresh nose with subtle tropical notes. The palate offers citrus notes entwined with clean acidity and a soft oak influence on the enjoyable finish. Ashbury Grove range is made by Kingston Estate, based at Kingston-On-Murray which is approximately 220 km from Adelaide in South Australia. Kingston Estate was founded by Sarantos and Constantina Moularadellis, who developed their 40 acre. Today Kingston Estate is the 10th largest wine producer in Australia and remains one of Australia's largest family-owned wineries. The fruit was sourced from vineyards in the Riverland area of South Australia, where Kingston Estate have been developing their vineyards since 1998. Making sure the berries were picked at their optimum levels, night harvesting was employed at approximately 13° to 14° Baume thus avoiding any likelihood of harsh phenolics or loss of flavour. Small batch fermenting in static fermenters with a neutral yeast has enabled full fruit flavours to develop. Avoiding any further malolactic fermentation produced a truly fruit driven style of wine with only a hint of underlying French oak support. (12 x 75 cl)
