Description: 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 11% Cab Franc & 10% Shiraz. 23 months maturation in small oak barrels. Structured but ripe. Rich black plum in colour. It has a rich enticing nose, with hints of cassis, cherries, coffee and leather. Leading Johannesburg lawyer Stephan du Toit was understandably seduced by this delightful farm, nestling in the Hawequas foothills near Wellington. He was determined to produce top quality wine here. The Mont du Toit philosophy focuses on impeccable ingredients with severe pruning, green harvesting and rigorous selection. Winemaking is overseen on a daily basis by Pieter-Neil Rossouw, joined intermittently by German consultant Bernd Philippi and Stephan du Toit himself. (6 x 75 cl)
