Alain Bonneau Chateau Du Poyet Vielles Vignes Muscadet de Sevre-et-Maine Sur Lie
Description: Chateau du Poyet is one of the rare chateau existing in this area as it is owned by the Bonneau family who only recently started doing their own bottling. Early picking of the grapes is undertaken, sometimes before full ripening, to get a good acidity, while there is no malolactic fermentation. To preserve maximum freshness the wine is bottled at the Chateau straight from the vat off its lees without any racking. This 100% MelonDeBourgogne is a pale yellow colour, with a touch of complexity on the nose brought about by ageing on the lees. The palate is well balanced with surprisingly good weight and concentration followed by a clean, crisp finish. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £100.79

Luneau-Papin Chardonnay Melon Vin de Pays Jardin de la France
Description: This wine is really something different. It is made from the 'MelondeBourgogne' grape, which is hand picked, and only 40,000 bottles are produced by this master winemaker. Light and fruity, this is a very well-finished wine. Pierre et Monique Luneau-Papin head this 30-hectare estate in Le Landreau, in the heart of Muscadet country, where small hamlets dot a landscape of vineyards on low hills. Their estate, also known as Domaine Pierre de la Grange, has been in existence since the early 18th century when it was already planted with MelondeBourgogne, the Muscadet varietal. Pierre and Monique are the eighth generation of winemakers in the family. Pierre is a genial, low-key, distracted professor type. He's the winemaker and vineyard work supervisor. His wife Monique, lively, energetic and equally genial, is the business manager. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £90.71
