The vineyard of Rully is located in the south of cote de Beaune on clayey-chalky soils. The wine is fermented and aged in oak barrels during 12 months in the old arched cellar, finally, the wine is bottled after a light filtration. The care taken from the vineyard to the winery has produced a golden coloured wine with aromas of peach and apricot on both the nose and palate. Description: Ruby red with garnet tinges, intense and persistent bouquet reminiscent of rose and violet. The flavour is dry, velvety and harmonious with a slightly bitter tang. The Colonnara Cooperative in Cupramontana was established in 1959 and has now 183 small growers owning nearly 300 hectares. Apart from a high tech approach to vinification, production is characterised by an effectively “organic” approach to viticulture, using minimal treatments and only natural fertilisers. Verdicchio is unjustly unfashionable in the U.K. At its best, as in Cuprese – a selection from low yielding 20 year old vines – it can be a wine of real personality.
