Duck Pond Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley Washington State
Description: Founded in 1993, Duck Pond Cellars owns and operates 820 acres of vineyards in the valleys of northern Oregon and slopes of eastern Washington. Growing in these diverse climates allows Duck Pond Cellars to produce the best quality fruit for a wide selection of wines. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc as well as a litlle Merlot. The grapes are selected from the 480-acre southern facing Desert Wind Vineyard that is located in Eastern Washington on the Wahluke Slope. This site is considered a zone 3, the hottest in the Columbia Valley, however, cool evenings allow for acid development. Once in the winery great care is taken and finally the wine is barrel aged in 100% American oak to deliver a heady aroma. Showing rich and ripe fruit black currant flavours, with a backdrop of cedar and spice, reveal a powerful body and elegant balance. (12 x 75 cl)
