Chateau Prieure-Lichine LE BLANC DU CHATEAU PRIEURE-LICHINE Bordeaux
Description: Made from Sauvignon Balnc and Semillon, this is a fruity and acidic wine with notes of fresh herbs, mushroom and thirst quenching citrus fruits. This is truly a voluptuous wine. Originally part of the vineyards of the Benedictine Priory on Cantenac, and in fact, the chais at Prieure still contain part of its original structure dating from the 16th century. Ownership changed several times after the Revolution until the estate was bought in 1951 by the late wine authority, Alexis Lichine. From that time, M. Lichine expanded the vineyards and completely renovated the chais and the chateau itself. The estate was owned by Alexis' son, Sacha until June of 1999 when it was sold to the Ballande company. Stella Bella Wines SUCKFIZZLE Cabernet Sauvignon Margaret River Western Australia
Description: Suckfizzle is a small vineyard located at the south-westerly extreme of the Margaret River grape growing region and since the first release in 1997 the Suckfizzle wines have developed a cult following. Here the converging power of the Southern and Indian oceans, provide a cool maritime climate characterised by drenching winter rains and long dry summers cooled by omnipresent sea breezes. In the north-east facing shelter of the Leeuwin Naturaliste Ridge and the Blackwood River, nature provided a unique viticultural mesoclimate for the Suckfizzle wines. Only two wines are made in the small vineyard. The white is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, the percentages a reflection of seasonal fortune. In style, the wine takes its cue from the very great wines of the Bordeaux appellation Pessac Leognan but showcases the inimitable Augusta style. The red is pure Cabernet Sauvignon (12 x 75 cl)

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars Sauvignon Blanc Napa Vally California
Description: Founded in 1972 by Warren and Barbara Winiarski, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars produces wines it describes as ‘classical’. The now legendary 1976 Paris Tasting at which the 1973 Stag’s Leap Cabernet Sauvignon triumphed over the cream of Bordeaux, propelled the estate into the pre-eminent position it still retains today. Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars B.R.V., the estate vineyard on Big Ranch Road, contributes the majority of fruit to this blend, supplemented by grapes from the Rancho Chimiles Vineyard of Terrence Wilson, and other select Napa Valley growers. Once in the winery this Sauvignon, with a little Semillon spent 6 months ageing sur lies before release. A delicate perfume of lemon, pear, and honeysuckle introduce this wine’s sophisticated charm while subtle notes of pineapple, tangerine, and lemongrass weave their way through the glass. On first taste, flavours of passion fruit and mandarin orange are tinged by flinty mineral tones and refreshing acidity. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Loudenne Cru Bourgeois Superieur Medoc
Description: Chateau Loudenne, situated on the banks of the Gironde estuary, is one of the most delightful sites in the Medoc, the charm of which did not escape the appreciative eye of its owners, Marie-Claude and Jean-Paul Lafragette. Chateau Loudenne stretches over a superb estate of 132 hectares, with 48 hectares of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, and 12 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. Since the Lafragette family bought Loudenne in March 2000, work on the vines has been conducted with the specific aim of enhancing the individual character of Loudenne's terroir and therefore its wines. Accordingly, right from the pruning season though to harvesting, every task is carried out with the utmost care to produce better wines, even down to the job of thinning out the harvest and the foliage by hand in September to help the ripening process. Once in the winery the grapes are vinified in stainless steel or lined concrete vats and ageing for 16 months in the cask takes place, of which 30% of the casks are renewed every year. Great care is again taken when choosing different coopers. Here they are adapted to each specific wine enabling Loudenne to obtain complex more telling aromas. Commitment to quality is a constant at this winery and since 2000 malactic fermentation is carried out in all the new casks, here the aromas imparted by the vats are better accepted by the wine as well as this the age-old technique makes the tannins silky and the wines rounder. This wine is a blend of 45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc as well as a little 1%Malbec and is a very intense red colour. Its bouquet reveals blackberry, black-currant and cherry, while spicey hints and a latent woodiness add to the complexity. Its attack is lively and in the mouth, there is a roundness giving the wine a certain fullness. Its structure is compact and the tannin's purity contributes to the high quality of this finish which is the sign of a great Medoc wine. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Broustet 2eme Cru Classe Barsac
Description: The Estate is owned by Didier Laulan, whose family have produced wine in Barsac for generations. It is located outside the village of Barsac in the so-called 'Haut Barsac' area. Chateau Broustet covers some 16 hectares in this part of the Garonne valley, better known as Sauternais. The location of Barsac-Sauternes near the Garonne, gives rise to special conditions in the autumn, when the morning mists are followed by hot days, thus favouring the development of noble rot. This action of 'botrytis cinerea' produces water evaporation, which leads to a natural sugar concentration. The soil is siliceous gravel on clay and limestone subsoil, which has a high iron content. This gives Barsac wines their special character. The average age of the vine is 40 years old, planted in proportions: 80% Semillon, 10% Sauvignon, 10% Muscadelle. Extreme care is given to the picking, and it can take 5 or 6 rounds to pick all the grapes. After the vinification, which takes place in small stainless steel vats, and up until the bottling, the wine ages for two years in barrels, renewed by a third each year. A very sweet full bodied white wine, excellent as an aperitif and also accompanies desserts to round off the meal. The severe pruning of the vines combined with the concentrating action of noble rot gives a low average yield of 12 hectolitres per hectare, that is to say 2000 cases of 12 bottles. (24 x 37.5 cl)
