Casa Vinicola D'Angelo VIGNA DEI PINI IGT Basilicata
Description: This Chardonnay proves that D'Angelo skills extend beyond Aglianico, generally considered his strong point. A white with good personality, well-defined varietal aromas and good structure. Moderately full and rounded on the palate. To quote Burton Anderson, the D’Angelo brothers, Donato and Lucio , are “the undisputed leaders in the Basilicata … with Aglianico that ranks with the finest reds of southern Italy”. The Aglianico variety is sometimes considered the Nebbiolo of the south for its tarry aromas and powerful tannins. Donato d’Angelo’s magic as a winemaker lies in timing the grape’s aggression and making a wine with suppleness and elegance (12 x 75 cl) Price: £155.55
