Arlewood Estate Shiraz Margaret River Australia
Description: Arlewood Estate was established in 1988 in the Willyabrup Valley of the Margaret River wine region in Western Australia. The Gosatti family in partnership planted a small vineyard near Cowaramup in 1995, and acquired Arlewood Estate in 1999. In October 2005, The Gosatti Family completed an outright purchase of Arlewood to pursue the vision that is starting to crystalise with the release of some wines worthy of their situation. The total area under vine is 15 hectares and the plantings include 17 year old Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon vines; 11 year old Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Franc; 10 year old Chardonnay, along with newer plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot. 100% Shiraz from the Arlewood Wilyabrup and Cowaramup vineyards this wine spent 12 months in 25% new Sirugue French barriques, 75% 2 year old French barriques. A big red wine showing savoury, fleshy and silky characters. The soft tannins and deep black fruit flavours are balanced by the acidic structure and enjoyable finish. (12 x 75 cl)

Preece Shiraz Victoria Australia
Description: Tasting Note Ripe and juicy Shiraz with plenty of black and red fruit character lightly oaked to add some vanilla, toast and spice notes to the plum pudding and raspberry notes. 14.6% Victorian Shiraz, the stuff from Melbourne rather than the 1880s, is a touch lighter than the big boys from the Barossa but is still packed with smooth red and black berry fruit. The cooler climate means the wine is fresh and juicy with a smooth, easy-drinking style. Toby Barlow has crafted a cracking example , using grapes grown in the same vineyards as the flagship Mitchelton wines, making this a great value wine with real pedigree. Producer Profile Made at the Mitchelton winery in Victoria , the Preece wines take their name from Australian wine legend Colin Preece who was one of the first people to spot and cultivate Victoria's potential for winemaking back in the early 1970s. The wines are made with all the care and attention to detail you'd expect of winemaker Toby Barlow and his team and reflect Victoria's cooler climate with an elegant, approachable style in contrast to the bigger blockbuster wines from elsewhere in Oz. Jeremy Oliver described the range in his Australian Wine Annual 2005 as (6 x 75 cl)

Knappstein Shiraz Clare Valley South Australia
Description: Ripe berry fruit with a spicy peppery note. A silky texture. Fine natural tannins. Very enjoyable drinking now, or cellar for up to ten years.Clare Valley Shiraz is a regional speciality. Early in the 1980's our shiraz vines were grafted over to other more commercially viable varieties. The wheel has turned full circle and we have 'ungrafted' the chardonnay. The vines have reverted to original root stock, and we're in the exciting position of soon to have thirty-year old shiraz vines which in future vintages will be used for our Knappstein Shiraz. (6 x 75 cl)
