Giacomo Ascheri BRICCO e COSTE Barolo Piemonte
Description: The Giacomo Ascheri Cellars originated in La Morra: in that area, where a place called “Ascheri” still exists, in the early 19th century the first vines were planted and the first wines produced. In 1880 the winery was moved from La Morra to Bra, where it is still situated today. In a world where wines are generally produced with the same grapes, the same technology, the same wood for ageing and above all the same consultants, Ascheri's aim is to obtain a wine which is the expression of the vineyard it comes from, the grapes it was made of, and above all Giacomo Ascheri own ideas. In order to achieve this, Giacomo Ascheri have chosen a natural approach, with a moderate use of technology, without changing the nature of the wine with special procedures. They have attached new importance to old oak barrel ageing making choices entirely by ourselves. Produced in the Sorano vineyard in Serralunga d’Alba with South/South West facing slopes and an altitude which ranges from 280 to 350 m above sea level. The vineyards in the Sorano Estate are planted with Nebbiolo and Dolcetto vines, that produce wines of outstanding richness. This 100% Nebbiolo is hand harvested in mid October and aged 6 months in stainless Steel tanks followed by 28 months in Slavonian oak 60% old, 40% new and a further 10 months in the bottle. Bright garnet red colour this Ascheri has a complex bouquet with a small fruits scent, elegant and with a hint of mint. Full palate, powerful and balanced wine it is harmonious and exceptionally long-lived, a remarkably classy wine, extraordinarily rich and complex that is reflected in the finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Mascarello BRICCO Barolo DOCG
Description: It was the vine-tender Giuseppe Mascarello who began the family business back in 1881, in the village of Monforte d'Alba, where he purchased a site in Regione Pian della Polvere. Today, the family still run this well respected winery producing great wines that are a real reflection of the region. Once in the winery the Nebbiolo grapes are matured in small Slavonian oak barrels for around 36 months and the resulting colour is garnet red with orange-coloured highlights. The nose is very fruity, elegant, intense, with flowery notes while the good body is showing power and stuffing, demanding, masculine, long and full this is a wine to enjoy. (6 x 75 cl)

Rocche dei Manzoni BAROLO DOCG Vigna D'la Roul
Description: Stylish red wine that matures sooner than Barolo, but shows similar depth & class. It has a balanced tannin and acidity ratio. Vinous and harmonious. A great wine. As a native of Piacenza, Valentino Migliorini was unconstrained by Langhe traditions when creating his state of the art cellar in Monforte. The estate is now one of the largest in Barolo, with 40 hectares owned and another 20 rented on a long-term basis, all in the commune of Monforte. Valentino’s pioneering spirit lead to his most famous creation: Bricco Manzoni, the barrique-aged blend of Nebbiolo and Barbera that ha inspired many imitations. The Baroli are all superb in the modernist style, with clever use of new oak and powerful expression of the Monforte terroi (6 x 1.5 Litres)
