Santo Isidro de Pegoes Red Vinho Regional Terras Do Sado
Description: This co-operative was founded in 1958 and today covers over 800 hectares of vineyards owned by hundreds of farmers in the Terras do Sado region. Here the vineyard growers benefit from excellent climatic conditions and a terroir known as Plicenico de Pegoes, a mainly sandy soil based region that produces grapes with distinctive character. This wine is a blend of 90% Castelao Frances with a little Trincadeira and Espadeiro. This is a ruby red coloured wine with plenty of fruit, and is a soft easy drinking wine. (12 x 75 cl)

Description: Cielo e Terra was established in 1908, thanks to the passion of vinegrowering families from the Veneto Region. Today, Cielo e Terra has taken root in over 3000 hectares of vineyards cultivated by the vinegrowers of the Cantine dei Colli Berici. The aim of this Cantine is to enhance the wine and culture of the Berici Hills, innovate the quality and image of the wines and promote increased control over the entire vine-growing and wine-producing chain. This has resulted in a rose coloured wine with copper reflections and a refined, intense bouquet with extremely pleasing hints of fruit. Description: The wines of Terras Gauda are located in the subzone of O Rosal on the terraces that rise steeply above the river Mino which divides Spain from Portugal. Following soaking and racking, the must is then fermented in new casks made of French an American oak, and then ageed on lees for four months. This has produced a lively, intense, yellow straw colour displaying the pleasant flavours of peach and white flower go hand in hand with hints of melted butter, with slight smokiness from the new cask.A sweet, elegan and fresh wine on the palate, evoking lingering fine wood, with a smooth tannin, whose persistence produces a finish bursting with ripe and toasted fruit sensations. At Terras Gauda they distil the Porta do Mino eaux-de-vies from the marc of the Albarino grape. Their meticulous elaboration is inspired by the traditional production methods of O Rosal eaux-de-vie and a desire to achieve a polished potable product. The aromatic composition of the white eaux-de-vie is complex with lovely fragrances, perfectly harmonised, reminiscent of the floral, fruity origins of the grapes, but supplemented also by notes of walnut and coffee bean.
