DeVenogeBLANCdeBLANCS Vintage Champagne
Description: Established in Epernay since 1839, DeVenoge naturally has very close links with the Côte des Blancs and Sézanne, the two main growing areas for chardonnay. So since the middle of the 19th century our Vintage BlancdeBlancs has been made with a blend of 80% grapes from the Côte des Blancs and 20% from the area around Sézanne. It therefore stands out from other Blancs deBlancs made in Champagne and shows the superbly balanced acidity and structure of the grapes from the Côte and the vinosity of those from Sézanne. Like all great white wines DeVenogeBlancdeBlancs can be drunk as an aperitif, with seafood or with fish. We have found that our BlancdeBlancs tends to develop much more complex aromas if it is cellared for two or three years. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £210.56

DeVenoge BRUT ROSE Non Vintage Champagne
Description: This cuvée was created in 1864 as a light rosé with an unusually fine froth. It was christened "Crémant rosé", another innovation in Champagne thanks to Joseph deVenoge. Produced after the classic Champagne fashion with a blend of Pinot Noir red wine and white wines made from the three grape varieties, it is perfect served as an aperitif on a sunny day or poured over red berry fruits or with something more adventurous such as stewed lobster in truffled seafood cream. DeVenoge rosé comes in a clear glass bottle so as to reveal its beautiful colour. The label shows Yvonne deVenoge, Marquess de Mun, at table with her husband and evokes her appreciation of this particular champagne. DeVenoge rosé should be drunk young. Contrary to most of our other cuvées we do not recommend that it should be cellared over a long period. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £172.49

La Cave Du Vin BlancDe Morgex et De La Salle RAYON Blanc Vallee D'Aosta DOC
Description: The region of Valle d'Aosta has an ancient history of winemaking, even though the steep mountain slopes and harsh, cold climate might suggest otherwise. Historically however, wine production from the region was confined to individual 'backyard vineyards' of usually no more than 2,500 square meters. In 1983, thanks in part to the efforts of the region's local government, these efforts were officially acknowledged and the Cooperative estate, Cave du Vin Blancde Morgex et de La Salle, was born. This cooperative took control of its newly built winery, well-equipped with all the technology needed to produce high-quality fine wines and began producing the region's traditional wine varieties. The local growers of the co-op are for the most part retired persons who tend their vines as they would a garden, following specific guidelines set up by the cooperative itself. Today the Cave du Vin Blancde Morgex et de La Salle produces over 140,000 bottles annually of 5 different traditional Valle D'Aosta wines. This unfailing commitment to the Valle D'Aosta wine-making has literally saved the region's history and culture from extinction, making these beautiful wines, and a part of Valle D'Aosta's culture. 100% Prie Blanc and fermented in Stainless Steel is a cloudy yellow coloured wine with greenish reflections. Showing Floral, banana, citrus aromas it has fresh acidity and a long finish. (6 x 75 cl) Price: £77.39

DeVenoge LOUIS XV Grand Cru Vintage Champagne
Description: The brand name was registered in 1864. Typically, Grand Vin des Princes is a very special blend of BlancdeBlancs from grands crus on the Côte des Blancs. This cuvée was created for the Princes of Orange but was made available to the general public in 1858, the idea being to win clients from amongst the great families of Europe. Since 1961 it has been housed in a special bottle shaped like a decanter, as a reminder of the way it used to be served in the 19th century. Grand Vin des Princes is still served at royal banquets at the court of Emperor Akihito of Japan for example. Its marvellous structure and concentrated aromas make it a superb match for lobster, monkfish or even caviar. For the record, in 1895 DeVenoge registered the brands "Cuvée des Princes", "Cuvée Princière", "Champagne des Princes", "Réserve des Princes" and also "Champagne Rouge des Princes" and "Tisane des Princes", a very sweet champagne.
