Allan Scott Pinot Gris Marlborough NZ
Description: Tasting note: An elegant off dry wine displaying pear and light spice on the nose and pear and white stone fruit on the palate. A beautifully balanced wine with a well structured long lingering finish Viticulture Pinot Gris is a very distinctive rapid growing vine and being an aromatic variety to a certain extent we have planted it in a moderately stoney area which will enhance the characteristics. Vinification Being a first, debate ensued as to whether to make in the Pinot Grigio style or the more ambivalent style that is derived from the vines in Alsace. After a slow cold fermentation in stainless the wine was placed in older French oak barriques for a short period of maturation. (12 x 75 cl)
