Medium yellow-green; a complex bouquet with an array of fig and melon fruit, nutty/cashew malolactic influences and subtle oak, then a fruit-forward palate with fig and cashew flavours, closing with good acidity. The wine is 50 per cent fermented in new French oak barriques, and spends approximately six months maturing in wood before being bottled. Immaculate winemaking produces an immaculate wine. Ashbrook Estate Winery is owned and operated by two brothers, Brian and Tony Devitt since 1975. It is the very essence of a Margaret River Winery, small out of the way but all about producing high quality varietal wine. All the fruit is estate grown and hand harvested and all winemaking processes including bottling are carried out on site. The white wines are single grape varietals to allow the grape characteristics to shine through. James Halliday Australia’s foremost wine critic rates Ashbrook’s consistently highly with four of their current release wines 90/100 or over. We are very pleased to offering you some great bottles from this multi-award winning Margaret River winery. (12 x 75 cl)

Ashbrook Estate Semillon Margaret River Western Australia
Description: Light to medium yellow-green; a complex and quite intense bouquet suggests the use of some oak or lees contact; the palate has good length and intensity, with sweet lemon and lime fruit. Fermented in stainless steel, and not given any time in oak, the wine shows the herbaceous style of Margaret River Semillon to best advantage. An Old World grape that has flourished down-under producing a complex, medium/dry white with ripe fruit and a clean finish – a great drink when young but with definite aging potential. Pio Cesare L ALTRO Chardonnay DOC Piedmont
Description: In 1981 we planted some Chardonnay vines in a single vineyard of our estate in Treiso, replacing an old vineyard of Barbaresco. Since 1985 we produce with these Chardonnay grapes a limited quantity of barrel fermented Chardonnay called Piodilei. We wanted to keep the quantity of this wine very small and in the meantime we wish to give the chance to a wider number of consumers to enjoy our Chardonnay. In September 1993 we decided to ferment in stainless-steel tanks a part of our Chardonnay: the results was a fresh and vibrant wine with evident hints of ripe fruits. After some experiments we noted that adding to this wine a 25% of the same Chardonnay fermented and aged in new oak barrels, we reached an interesting wine spicy taste and persistent after-taste. So that we decided to create a new Chardonnay, with more pronounced fruity character but slightly lighter style. L'Altro in italian means (12 x 75 cl) Price: £197.21
