Hartford Family Winery HARTFORD COURT SEASCAPE VINEYARD Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast California
Description: Hartford Family Winery was founded in 1993 as a result of Don and Jennifer Hartford's appreciation for the wines, the people and the unique vineyards near their Russian River Valley home. Located in the Sonoma County town of Forestville, the winery is about 15 miles from the cool Pacific Coast. The fruit for the Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is composed of exceptional, small block Pinot Noir vineyards located in the Sonoma Coast. Estate vineyards are the primary sources for this cepage, which is comprised of selected blocks from our Ross Road Vineyard , our Seascape and Annapolis Vineyards and a handful of growers within the Russian River Valley. Centuries old winemaking traditions from Burgundy are combined with twenty-first century technology to produce this juicy and delicious Pinot Noir. Hand harvesting in the cool of the morning, followed by meticulous hand sorting is a pre-requisite before de-stemming directly into open-top fermentors. Individual Pinot Noir batches are held at 50 degrees Fahrenheit for five to seven days before the grapes begin to ferment. During this cold soak, and throughout fermentation, the grapes are gently punched down by hand, to aid in the extraction of color and flavor while minimizing the extraction of hard or ‘unripe’ tannins from the seeds or stems. The wine is aged on fine sediment in small French oak barrels for 11 months and is racked once before bottling. Great care from the vineyard to the winery has produced a Pinot Noir showing aromas of rose petals, cherries, orange pekoe tea, lavender and smoke that are followed by flavours of ripe, red cherries, roasted plums, cinnamon, chocolate, anise and allspice. The complex aromas and dense, sweet mouthfeel are supported by centered acidity and fine grain tannins.

The Robert Mondavi Winery is the flagship brand for the estate and these elegant, limited-production wines define the very best of Napa Valley. Robert Mondavi Winery is located in the heart of Napa Valley, California. Its mission-style architecture, with the expansive archway and bell tower designed by Cliff May, has become an enduring landmark that evokes California's winemaking history. The grapes were selected from the Los Carneros American Viticultural Area , including 75% from our Huichica Hills Vineyard. One of the most temperamental grape varieties, Pinot Noir vines thrive in these the cool, windy rolling hills that span the southernmost tip of Napa and Sonoma Valleys, developing small crops of vibrantly flavored fruit. Extremely gentle handling through all phases of winemaking enabled Mondavi to bottle this wine without filtration after 10 months of barrel ageing. This has produced a deep red coloured wine with aromas of black cherry, rose, forest and warm spice complexity that fan out across the palate. The tannins are supple and beautifully integrated with an enjoyable long finish. Limited Availability. (6 x 75 cl)

De Loach GREEN VALLEY Pinot Noir Sonoma County California
Description: This quintessential Green Valley Pinot Noir boasts dark ruby red hues that open to a bright fruit nose with earthy aromas and a smattering of spice. Followed on the palate by flavors of pomegranate, cherries, raspberry, leather, and crushed rose petals that burst in the mouth and continuously evolve as the wine breathes. A well-structured wine, it is ready to drink now and will age beautifully for up to 10 years. Located in the western hills of the Russian River Valley, Green Valley is one of Sonoma County's coolest regions. Blankets of fog pushed over from the Pacific Ocean chill the otherwise hot summer evening air and ensure temperate mornings. The valley's optimal weather conditions extend the growing season and produce concentrated berries while soils rich in minerals from an ancient seabed infuse the fruit with nuanced flavours. Green Valley is a blend from several vineyards in the Green Valley appellation. The vineyards represent different clones, each of which contributes something unique to the finished wine. Each vineyard site has been carefully selected to display the bright, crystalline fruit, which is characteristic of classic Green Valley Pinot Noir. The Russian River Valley has come to be known as 'America's Burgundy,' and DeLoach is proud to have been an important factor in this distinction. Purchased by Boisset in 2003 and the appointment of new winemaker Greg La Follette marked the start of their return to form for DeLoach. Greg is a Pinot specialist, as his background would suggest, and these are the wines that are the most distinctive in the De Loach range. (6 x 75 cl)
