Pio Cesare Barbaresco Piemonte DOCG
Description: Our Barbaresco has a glossy garnet colour with light ruby shades. The bouquet is intense and fragrant, with a hint of violets, cinnamon and vanilla. The palate is dry, full and vigorous, with overtones of peach. This wine has a quiet power. The Nebbiolo grapes for our Barbaresco come almost exclusively from our own vineyards in the village of Treiso. To these we add a small quantity of grapes from some of the best vineyards in Barbaresco and San Rocco Seno d'Elvio. The right blending of grapes from different vineyards allows us to produce a wine with many hues. As with our Barolo, the grapes for Barbaresco are carefully selected. Each and every grape is inspected to ensure perfection, and any grape that is not absolutely perfect is discarded. The three-week harvest takes place during the last two weeks in October and the first in November. The grapes are soft pressed and fermented at 25 to 26 degrees, in contact with the skins for 20 to 25 days. We have tended toward a long maturation in French oak, well beyond the terms imposed by the DOCG, so that our Barbaresco can develop a complex personality that complements her beauty. (6 x 75 cl)

Description: The Barbera d’Asti has an intense, deep red colour with violet highlights and perfumes of ripe fruit on the nose, with notes of blackberries, plums and bilberries. On the palate it has great intensity; it is warm, ripe and rounded with mature fruit flavours and a solid but supple tannin structure. It is long and spicy to the end. Since starting to bottle in 1978 Bruno Rocca has risen to the top of the quality tree in Barbaresco. He has 8 hectares of vineyard in Rabaja supplemented by smallholdings in Nieve and Treiso. Stylistically he is a consummate modernist yet the intensity of fruit is balanced by a typical Piemontese structure, and the character of the varietal is balanced by a judicious use of oak. Poderi Colla RONCAGLIE Barbaresco Alba Piemonte
Description: Characteristically Nebbiolo in color, i.e. intense ruby red with subtly lighter reflections that connoisseurs will recognize. Inviting and non-aggressive, its bouquet is extremely complex, with the variety's typical rose nuances as well as ample, layered spice, woodsy and berry sensations. On the palate it is very full-bodied while also elegant, almost feminine. Straightaway intense and pleasing, long and soft, with a finish of great finesse and appeal and firm, sweet tannins. This is a great wine to accompany the entire meal, albeit best with red meat and fowl. Ideal served at 17/19º C., in a very ample glass. In case of older vintages, it is advisable to decant in order to allow it to breathe properly. Description: The Barbaresco Rabaj has good colour, although in characteristic Nebbiolo style is light garnet, rather than the inky depths of Syrah or Cabernet. Many gradual changes have been performed by the successive generations of the Pelisseros, who transformed the grape-selling activity started by Giovanni Pelissero into winemaking of all the estate-grown grapes. Winemaking takes place in a cellar surrounded by vineyards situated in a zone called Augenta. The first bottles of wine dated back to 1960 and were produced by Luigi Pelissero, whose work was followed by his son, Oenologist Giorgio who, after finishing his studies, decided to work full time at the winery. The Pelissero family takes care of all the activities from pruning the vines to marketing the wine.
