Marchesi di Barolo has been producing the finest Piedmontese DOC and DOCG wines for more than 100 years. Historically they are known for producing the first Barolos, made from Nebbiolo grapes and the finest Crus from the Cannubi area. Vines situated in the finest positions of the zone of origin provide the grapes for the production of this Barbera. A fresh and fruity aroma with clear scents of vanilla and roasted hazelnuts. This wine has a warm and robust nature which develops a complexity after maturation of six to twelve months in small barrels of toasted French oak. It is then refined in the bottle. It can age for up to five years. Serve at room temperature. (12 x 75 cl)

Pio Cesare FIDES Barbera d'Alba DOC
Description: The colour is wonderful, typical of the Barbera varietal. The palate is surprisingly supple, round and soft, with good acidity. This wine has great ageing potential The name Fides means trust in Latin, and Pio Cesare Family has always had great trust in Barbera grown in the Barolo region. This Trust was reinforced in 1991 when we bought a new small estate in Serralunga d'Alba, close to our Ornato vineyard. This new estate has a perfect location, facing south and it could have been a great Barolo vineyard. Instead, we removed the Nebbiolo vines and replaced with Barbera, being convinced of the quality that we could obtain from such a great property. The perfect exposure, the microclimate of the area, and the peculiar selection of the vines, allows us to produce grapes extremely rich and concentrated. Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, with skin contact for about 10 days to extract the maximum of colour and fruit. The ageing for twenty months in small barrels of French oak and in casks of 25 hectolitres is contributing to the sweetness and longevity of the tannins. (12 x 75 cl)
