Livio and Giorgio Marega AURORA Tocai Friulano Collio DOC
Description: Started in 1905 by the estate's great-grandfather Ludvik Cresevec who bought 2ha in San Floriano the estate has passed down the generations and grown to its current size of 13.5ha . The vineyard plots are scattered throughout the locality: in Cero on the Slovenian border, Gradiscutta and Blanchis as well as San Floriano. The agriculture is organic with minimal treatments. The traditional Collio style is the focus of Livio and Giorgio Marega, with their challenge to get back to traditional methods in vinification, using the traditional barrels of two and five hectolitres, called "Holbar". These barrels were made of acacia, which give white wines great finesse and intense bouquet and elegant sweet tannins. Tocai Friulano Aurora has bags of stuffing and is a very good example of this grape variety. It has a broad nut-cream oilyappley character and some crunchy green-plum fruit. (12 x 75 cl)

Collavini BROY Bianco DOC Collio
Description: In 1896 Eugenio Collavini, the founder, first supplied to the best Udinese's families his wines without ever imagining that a century later they would reach the world over The grapes, carefully chosen amongst the over-ripened bunches, are gathered separately on special grid trays. Only the Tocai Friulano and the Chardonnay grapes are then concentrated in a modern temperature and humidity controlled fruit-cell. The Sauvignon grapes are gently pressed and the juice maintained at a low temperature in order to block fermentation. The pressing of Tocai Friulano and Chardonnay grapes then follows, before these three are then fermented together in small oak barrels from the Allier forest, that are perfectly aged and toasted. The wine is bottled and rests for further 3-4 months before release. The wine is a blend of Tocai Friulano, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanch and has a deep golden yellow colour with aromas of sweet acacia and vanilla that integrate well with the tropical fruit notes. This wine presents a full body, round, harmonious and long with lingering aromas. (6 x 75 cl)
