Showing a deep purple colour with hints of mauve it has a unique bouquet of small fruits of the forest with charming touches of vanilla and a velvety texture, this wine seals in the covetable, high-quality tartness of the tannin's from the selected grapes of Mt. Meliton. An enduring VDQS red wine from the Slopes of Mt. Meliton it is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and the ruby-red Limnio varieties, aged for 12 months in brand new oak barrels in the Domaine's air-conditioned cellar. Joao Henrique Andresen was born on the 29th January 1826 on the island of Fohr in the North Sea. At the age of 14, like many other Danes, he travelled to Porto, his first destination and soon to be his last. After falling in love with the charm of the place, he decided to adopt the portugese nationality, where he stayed and began a new life. In 1845 the young entrepreneur began the painstaiking task of founding the "Maison de Porto" which still carries his name.
