The Goats do Roam Red is a blend primarily of Shiraz and Pinotage with Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Grenache, Merlot, Carignan, Gamay and Cabernet being used to achieve a consistent style across vintages. The wine was lightly oaked before being carefully blended and bottled. Vibrant brick red in colour, the wine has an attractive perfume of ripe red fruit, with a fragrant lift of liquorice and spice. The fruit follows through to the palate, with smooth, ripe tannins and nicely balanced acidity. Most of the fruit for Goats do Roam Red is sourced from a 300ha farm on the south-west-facing slopes of Paarl Mountain. This is a granite rock outcrop in the heart of the Paarl wine district, viticulturally among the most historic and influential areas of the Cape winelands. (12 x 75 cl)

Charles Back/Fairview Wine Estate GOATS DO ROAM Red South Africa
Description: Goats really do roam on the Fairview estate but the pun is more to do with the Rhone varietals like Shiraz and Grenache which Charles Back has planted and which suit the hot South African sun. Concentrated, spicy wine with lots of body and flavourthis is a deep vibrant purple coloured wine with aromas of ripe fruit and spice. Showing juicy ripe fruit this wine is complemented by the fresh palate with firm tannins and good length. The grapes were harvested from vineyards in the Paarl, Perdeberg, Piekenierskloof and Malmesbury regions. The majority of grapes are sourced from dry farmed old bush vines. These vineyards provide low yields, resulting in wine with considerable concentration. The various, predominantly Rhone varietals were harvested ripe and destalked before being fermented at 25 (12 x 75 cl)

Jean-Claude Boisset Gevrey Chambertin AC
Description: This Gevrey-Chambertin from Jean-Claude Boisset is made using fruit from old vines, primarily from two Premier Cru vineyards in Gevrey. Boisset used to buy wine from the grower who owns the Crepiot vineyard, but since Gregory's arrival they buy grapes instead. In addition, Gregory has worked closely with the grower to improve the quality of the fruit arriving at the winery. This quality shines through in the finished wine, which has lovely black cherry fruit giving way to a minerally yet luscious character on the palate. (6 x 75 cl)
