Description: In the 19th century the great grandfather of Erwan Faiveley, the 7th generation of this family domaine, recognised the potential of the Cote Chalonnaise and began buying vineyards. Les Mauvarennes is one of five monopole or single vineyards owned by them in Mercurey. The family believe that 95% of the quality of wine comes from the fruit and so great care is taken both in the vineyard and winery. Pinot Noir grapes are vinified at low temperature in stainless steel before maturation in oak casks for at least 12 months. Filtration is kept to a minimum to retain as much flavour in the wine as possible. This Mercurey is classic Faiveley (12 x 75 cl)

Description: Hospices de Dijon was founded by Eudes III Duke of Burgundy in 1204 to help the poor and needy. This work continues to this day and is dependent on donations and legacies like its better known neighbour the Hospices de Beaune. The domaine built up by these charitable donations covers some of the top communes in Burgundy. Buying Hospices de Dijon wine will support the charitable works of this winery and allow them to continue the good works in the local community. Description: This wine comes from a 3.5 hectare parcel and it is mixture of fruit from old vines and a new section planted by Bouley 15 years ago. This well made Pinot Noir is a fragrant, broad textured, fruity wine with scents and flavours of violets and plums. Jean-Marc Bouley’s domaine, which has been in his family for three generations, now consists of 12 hectares in Volnay, Pommard and Beaune. The winery is located underneath his house on a steep narrow street in the village of Volnay. The house was originally built by a retired railroad engineer, and the cellars resemble train tunnels. Jean-Marc took over the domaine in 1985 and significantly expanded the holdings, buying choice parcels in Volnay and Pommard.
