The nose has pronounced herbaceous notes which are balanced and softened by the oak. Attractive and gentle on the palate with integrated notes of sage and green pepper. Concentrated tannins with spicy, minty notes. Livon VILLA CHIOPRIS Cabernet Sauvignon Friuli Grave DOC
Description: In 1964 Dorino Livon purchased the first piece of property in the hills of Collio and step by step added new parcels to his portfolio. In this way, the Azienda Agricola Livon slowly but steadily continues to grow and continuing this trend Villa Chiopris was purchased in 1992. This seventy-hectare property lies between the towns of Chiopris and Viscone in a large plain, rich in iron and alluvial soils, that extends from the edge of the Veneto region in the west and the Colli Orientali del Friuli region in the east with the Moreniche hills to the North. The grapes are hand harvested from vineyards located in Chiopris followed by fermentation at controlled temperatures and an 8-month period in stainless steel tanks. This has produced a brilliant ruby red coloured wine. Intense, clean and pleasing aromas with hints of black cherry, strawberry and vanilla give way to a balanced, well-weighted and intense palate. The good tannin structure of this enjoyable wine gives way to a plum, raspberry and black cherry finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Ca' dei Frati RONCHEDONE Lugana Veneto
Description: Marzemino and Sangiovese are the main grapes for the 2005 Ronchedone, together with a maximum of 10% of Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a good depth of colour and perfumes of spicy red fruits on the nose. On the palate it has excellent concentration of spicy, jammy fruit with rounded, soft tannins and good acidity. Good structure supporting the ripe fruit character gives it a nice balance and attractive weight. Over the past decade, the Dal Cero family has transformed their Ca’ dei Frati property into a model Italian estate. When we first began buying their wines in 1987, they had 12 hectares of vineyard; today, they have 50. This increase in quantity has been matched by an increase in quality, and today they remain the best producers in Lugana. The quality of their vineyards is the secret of their success. Many producers in the zone overcrop and train the vines high. At Ca’ dei Frati, the vines are trained low, newer vineyards have a higher density of planting, and yields are well below the average for the zone. (6 x 75 cl)
