Niepoort LATE BOTTLE VINTAGE Port Douro Portugal
Description: Niepoort is a family company now in its fifth generation and as a port house, Niepoort enjoy an unparalleled reputation for tradition even though it is one of the smaller producers in the region. This Late Bottled Vintage port has been 100% foot trodden and fermented in lagares. The care taken in producing this port is reflected in the nose that is showing plenty of spice and ripe fruit. Warre's TRADITIONAL Late Bottled Vintage Port
Description: Warre's is one of the only Port companies always to have made a late bottled vintage in the original way. Today this tradition continues. Carefully selected from the finest wines of a very good year, this port is aged in oak casks for 4 years before being bottled without fining or filtration. This ensures that, as with Vintage Port, the fruit concentration is retained. Once bottled, Warre's Traditional Late Bottled Vintage Port is left to mature for a further 5 years in Warre's own cellars before being offered for sale. Quinta Do Tedo Late Bottled Vintage Port
Description: A rich vibrant flavour of ripe fruit is scented with hints of wild rock rose. The flavours of fruit preserves give way to a long, chocolaty aftertaste. Late Bottled Vintage Porto is considered to be but half a step away from Vintage Porto. It is made as a separate Porto style. As with Vintage Porto, the grapes come from one harvest, but this wine is aged in wood longer, up to 6 years. Small oak barrels accelerate aeration and allow the wine to mature into a Porto ready to drink immediately after bottling. LBVs do not necessarily need to age in the bottle. In 1992, Vincent Bouchard and his wife Kay Steffey Bouchard saw their dream of owning a winery become a reality. They purchased and began to restore the 250 year old, 34 acre, Quinta do Tedo estate located on the Douro River in Portugal. With great vision, passion and infinite energy, Vincent and Kay continue to revitalize their property and year after year they produce award winning Vintage Portos. Vincent was raised at the Burgundian estate of Bouchard Pere et Fils where his grandfather taught him how to create a wine from the soil in the vineyard all the way to the bottled product. Vincent's success in making balanced and vibrant Portos has a lot to do with his adherence to his grandfather's sage advice of respecting the fruit, its flavour, aroma, sweetness and delicacy. Quinta do Noval Unfiltered Late Bottled Vintage Port
Description: This is a Port of only one harvest with 70% grapes from Quinta do Noval vineyards and 30% from 'A' quality grapes from their traditional suppliers, in the heart of the Douro Valley. A blend dominated by Tinta Roriz, Touriga Francesa and Touriga Nacional grapes has produced a Port showing a deep rich brick red colour. The ripe vigorous and fruity nose gives way to a mouthful of fresh red fruits while the solid tannic structure complements the long harmonious finish. Adriano Ramos Pinto LBV Port
Description: The LBV 1995 shows an intense red colour, almost opaque, with garnet hues. The aromas are complete and full of powerful ripe fruit with notes of black plum. The wine is full-bodied with oaky nuances, promising excellent bottle ageing. On the palate, it is fresh, velvety, spicy and lively. Quinta de Santa Eufemia LBV Port
Description: The Quinta de Santa Eufemia was founded in 1894 by Bernardo Rodrigues de Carvalho. Situated on the left bank of the river Douro, at an altitude of 300 meters, between Peso da Regua and Pinhao, in the heart of the oldest demarcated wine-producing region in the world. The 40 Hectare estate has the varieties Tinta Barroca, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Touringa Nacional, Tinto Cão, and Tinta Amarela covering 80% of the vineyards, using a mechanised system. While the other 20% encompasses the white varieties of Malvazia Fina, Malvasia Rei, Moscatel Galego and Cerceal, are farmed according to the traditional method. The LBV 1995 is a genuine late bottled vintage kept in wood for twice as long as a single vintage port, it is therefore lighter in style and ready to drink. (12 x 75 cl)
