Burmester 1990 COLHEITA Port
Description: W. Burmester was founded in 1750. Historically they bought their young wine from prime vineyards in the Upper Douro from contracted growers. In December 1991 they made a very important purchase of a 120 hectare property in the heart of the upper Douro, Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, which has consolidated their reputation as serious Port producers and enabled them to offer their first single quinta Port in the great vintage of 1992. The Amorim family who success in the Portuguese cork industry has now purchased Burmester. It has brought new investment coupled with allowing Burmester to remain 100% under Portuguese ownership. The high quality of their Ruby and Tawny belies the competitive price at which they are offered, and they have many followers who enjoy their rich berry fruit characters. Quinta do Noval COLHEITA 1986 Port
Description: Noval Colheita 1974 had a beautiful amber colour with a brown-tawny tint. The nose is intense, with marzipan and apricots. The palate is extremely smooth and rounded with good nutty characters and some orange peel flavour. This wine has a great balance and smoothness combined with great intensity and length. (12 x 75 cl)
