TASTING NOTES: A juniper infused blueberry character in a superbly elegant version of this deeply colored variety. Floral, yet spicy, plush though elegant this wine has advanced from Pizza companion to noble beverage with ease. As the replanting at Nicodemi is coming to completion, this extremely solid wine is the result of a work in progress: a mix of old vine Montepulciano and younger vines planted to narrowly spaced modern spalier trellising. Aged in Slavonian cask this wine is the classic expression of Montepulciano in the noble terroir of Teramo, a village renown for producing the best Montepulciano grapes in the Abruzzo. (12 x 75 cl)
