Tua Rita PERLATO DELBOSCORosso Toscana
Description: Suvereto is a small, medieval town in the province of Livorno. Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti acquired the estate in 1984. Additional vineyards were planted in 1988, 1997 and 1998 which means that fans of these limited wines can look forward to an increase in production as soon as the newest vines bear fruit. This tiny Tuscan estate has been the recipient of constant accolades for the explosively rich, full bodied wines produced. As of1998, Stefano Chioccioli has been the winemaker at this estate. Stefano is renowned in Italy for his expertise in both the vineyard and the cellar and also works with other high quality producers like Allegrini, I Giusti e Zanza and Fanti. Perlato delBoscoRosso is 100% Sangiovese from the Perlato delBosco vineyard. The grapes are harvested in late September to early October. Maceration of the skins in contact with the must lasts approximately 15 to 18 days while manually punching down on the cap for extraction. The wine is aged for 20 months in oak barrels followed by 6 months in the bottle before release. Deep purple colour with dark and very intense aromas of blackberry, cocoa and spice. After years of significant investment, technological improvements and the usual experience brought about by trial and error, Ca'delBosco has won a reputation as one of the world's most prominent producers of not only fine sparkling wines, but also still wines. In 1998, Gambero Rosso, the leading authority on Italian wines, began referring to the estate as one of the few Stars in Italy, having won so many coveted Three Glasses awards. This wine has taken its name from its producer Maurizio Zanella, widely regarded as an innovator in the Italian wine industry and one of the few producers to introduce the Italian oenological renaissance. A classic Bourdeaux mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, which has been matured in small oak casks, 100% new, small oak barrels for 15 months followed by bottle ageing for 15 months. This wine is very elegant and refined with a deep, complex varietal fragrance with lingering aromatic persistence. The blend is both full and smooth in flavour and can age for a long time.
