Chateau Magneau is an ancient estate run by the Ardurats family, the direct descendants of a line of wine growers from before the reign of Henri IV. Fiveteen hectares of excellent plots of gravel soil are given over to producing red wines. The varieties planted are 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. The vines are on average 25 years old and the grapes are picked by hand once they have reached full maturity. The result of great care from the vineyard to the winery is a deep red coloured wine with a black forrest fruit bouquet that develops onto the palate through to the enjoyable finish. (12 x 75 cl)

ChateauMagneau CUVEE JULIEN Blanc Graves
Description: ChateauMagneau is an ancient estate run by the Ardurats family, the direct descendants of a line of wine growers from before the reign of Henri IV. The fruit is produced from strictly selected plots and the wine is made up of 60% Semillon and 40% Sauvignon Blanc. Once in the winery the stalks are removed before pressing and the juice is left to macerate on the skins for eight to twelve hours. That makes it fuller, fleshier, and gives a long-lasting flavour, while it is then better prepared for its stay in the oak barrels where it will ferment. The wine is then matured in the barrel of wine lees for nine months. The result of this care in the winery is a wine with toast aromas, full-bodied and fleshy in the mouth, showing flavours of pears and white berries. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £159.28
