This is the second wine of Chateau Cissac and the 50 hectare estate is located in Cissac-Medoc, at the heart of Haut-Medoc appellation. The Soil has fine gravel and chalk characteristics and is planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot that are used in this wine. Chateau bottled, the harvest is hand picked while vinification takes place in oak vats under temperature control up to a maximum of 28/30º. The wine is then matured 16 months in oak barrels, of which 50% are new. Each vine does not produce similar quantities each year. However, the proportions on the various single-variety wines that are assembled to make Chateau Cissac are strickly respected. The remaining wines are then carefully blended and are offered to customers under the label 'Reflets du Château Cissac'. The style will undoubtedly vary from year to year, not only for climatic reasons which apply to all wines but also to the varying productions of the grape varieties. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Falfas Cotes de Bourg
Description: Organic: This Bourg district is on the right bank slopes of the river Gironde. Merlot-dominated, this is a fine example of attention to detail and top class biodynamic wine making. Lots of plummy, spicy fruit, backed up by some oak ageing giving it fine length and plenty of aftertaste. If this is what chateau-bottled organic tastes like, let's have more of it.. the cedary nose has a distinctively grand whiff about it, suggesting a wine at more than twice the price. It's an elegant, roundly mature and middleweight claret drinking very well now. Spyglass Magazine. (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau Mouton Rothschild 1er Cru Classe Pauillac
Description: Wonderfully rich and still holding back. Beautiful plum, toasted oak, berry and tobacco character. Firm with a full body. In 1855, when the original classification was made, it had to be satisfied with the top placing in the second crus. This was probably due to the fact that the property had been bought in a relatively neglected state by Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild two years before the classification took place. This meant he had no opportunity to make the estate and the vineyard respectable. Mouton was then no more than a farmhouse and it was not until 1880 that James Rothschild built the elegant dwelling now known as Petit-Mouton. The property continued in the family of Rothschild and Baron Philippe took over the running of the property in 1922. He was determined to raise Mouton to a premier grand cru. One of the first things that he did was to introduce mandatory chateau bottling (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau Lynch Bages 5eme Cru Classe Pauillac
Description: Overlooking the Gironde estuary at the entrance to Pauillac the vines of Lynch-Bages are located on the Bages plateau, on one of the finest gravelly rises in the appellation. The estate once belonged to the famous Lynch family, of Irish origin, and was acquired by Jean Charles Cazes in 1934. His grandson, Jean-Michael Cazes, restructured the estate in 1974 adding state of the art winemaking equipment, while keeping the former wooden vats as a reminder of the nineteenth century. The grapes are all hand picked and then carefully sorted before crushing. A very strict selection is made prior to blending and the wine is traditionally aged in oak barrels for 15 months before bottling. Garonne gravel. "...Full-bodied and classic in its proportions, this dense, chewy, pure Lynch-Bages will have considerable longevity." Parker, 91+. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Larrivet Haut Brion Pessac-Leognan
Description: Chateau Larrivet Haut Brion is located 15 kilometres from the centre of Bordeaux in the heart of the Pessac Léognan appellation. Thanks to its acquisition by the Andros group in 1987, the estate has finally come into its own again. Following consolidation, the area under vine is now the same as at the end of the 19th century. In light of the special nature of the soil, manager Philippe Gervoson does everything in his power to adapt his wine growing to the terroir, using the methods applied by the region’s great estates. In 1996 Philippe decided to take another step towards greater quality by employing well known oenologist Michel Rolland. The grapes are hand picked as late as possible for maximum ripeness and carefully sorted before crushing. Winemaking is carried out over eighteen months, 3 months after the harvest, when the malolactic fermentation is over, the wine is put into oak barrel, one-third new each year. Racked every three months, it remains there until bottling which takes place in the spring of the second year following the harvest. Full of finesse the Chateau Larrivet Haut Brion wines are characterised as being soft, well balanced with a good tannic structure. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot reach their peak between five and 20 years cellaring. The 2000 vintage is a the deep ruby-purple-coloured wine that has aromas of ripe dark forest fruits and new oak. The blend is, firm, tannic, concentrated with a medium to full-body style while the sweetness of fruit complements a lengthy finish. Available in half bottles. (24 x 37.5 cl)

Chateau Maucaillou Cru Bourgeois Moulis
Description: Thanks to its ideal vineyard conditions and to the loving care given to the wine during vinemaking, ageing and bottling, Châteati Maucaillou is a wine of exceptional quality and is in no way inferior to many estates classified in 1855. The main reason it was not itself classified at that time is that the château was not built, nor did vineyard come into being until 1875. As with all great growths, Maucaillou is always good in difficult years because only perfectly ripe grapes are picked and because selection both at harvest time and during vinemaking is particularly rigorous and stringent. Increasing recognition of its high quality is making Maucaillou more and more sought after by connoisseurs the world over. (12 x 75 cl)
