Description: Les Nobles Pierres is an of assemblage 90% Syrah and 10% old Grenache vines and aged in Allier oak barrels for twelve months. A lovely deep red colour showing a complex but elegant nose of vanilla, red fruits, pepper and tapenade. An excellent attack, with silky, melted tannins it is fat, voluminous, and round. A long finish of great complexity, on notes of vanilla, licorice, laurel, pepper and olives, finesse and elegance are the essential characteristics of this wine. A well-known estate taken over by Jean-Benoit Cavalier in 1984 which seems to be on the right tracks again after a few years in the doldrums. Description: In local dialect Di Barro means of the barrels. The name is formed from the first syllables Barmaz and Rossan, the former owners as well as parents-in-law of the current owner, who grew wine in the family vineyards in Monte Torrette. The Torrette itself is made from 90 per cent Petit Rouge with a little Mayolet, Vien de Nus, Neblou, Cornalin and Fumin making up the remainder.
