Selvapiana BUCERCHIALE Chianti Rufina Riserva
Description: This wine shows aromas of wild cherries and cedar on the nose, and is well structured on the palate, with good acidity, fine tannins and very long length. It is more generous and forward than the classically structured 2001 vintage. Selvapiana has always been a special estate, as much for the people as for the quality of the wines. Federico Giuntini has improved on the remarkable legacy of quality bequeathed to him by Francesco Giuntini to bring Selvapiana into the first rank of Tuscan estates. The Sangiovese grapes for the 2003 Bucerchiale Chianti Rufina Riserva were grown in the 12.5 hectare Bucerchiale vineyard on the Selvapiana estate situated in Chianti Rufina zone northeast of Florence. The oldest part of this vineyard was planted in 1968, and the youngest in 1995. Southwest facing, it is the estate’s finest vineyard, and was first produced as a single vineyard wine in 1979. (12 x 75 cl)

Marchesi de' Frescobaldi Castello di Nipozzano MONTESODI Chianti Rufina DOCG
Description: Strikingly intense and brilliant purple. The nose shows rich, concentrated fruit, with abundant blackcurrant and blueberry preceding clean-edged impressions of plum preserves, while black pepper and cinnamon nuances mark a very lengthy finale. It develops quite full-bodied on the palate, warm and generous, with a well-built, velvety suite of tannins. The progression through the finish is complex and lingering, complemented throughout by a judicious acidity that perfectly balances the alcohol. (6 x 75 cl)
