It is soft on the palate with sweet, supple tannins, and well-balanced acidity, finishing long with perfumes red fruits and spice. The estate of Capezzana, owned and run by the Contini Bonacossi family, just celebrated 12 centuries of wine-making. The first mention of Capezzana is on a parchment document dating back to the year 804. Despite this history, they are today one of Tuscany’s most dynamic and forward thinking of producers. Description: In the center of the best area for Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, supremely situated at the top of a hill surrounded by vineyards, is the 17th century villaTenuta Trerose. The estate encompasses 420 acres among the rolling hills near the town of Montepulciano, with 124 acres planted to vineyards specifically selected for making Vino Nobile. Made from a blend of 90% Prugnolo, a varient of the Sangiovese vine, 5% Canaiolo and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. The average age of vines used in production of this wine is 18 years with the harvest commencing in early October. Vinification takes place in steel tanks and the blend is aged 24 months in Slavonia oak barrel and bottle aged 3 months before the released for sale. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £171.94
