Concha y Toro TERRUNYO Carmenere Puemo Rapel Valley Chile
Description: Tended by the winemaker's attentive hand, each varietal grows and ripens within its own particular Terruyo , an exceptional piece of land in the heart of the very best vineyards of Concha y Toro. Each Terrunyo varietal originates from a unique, specific vineyard in which the microclimate, the chosen grape stock, a select piece of soil and the expert hand of man interact magically in a metaphysical conjunction, which creates perfect harmony and delivers unrivaled quality. From the Carmenere it is Block 27 of the Peumo Vineyard in Rapel Valley. Harvested by hand in April, this is a blend of 85% Carménère, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. The wine is aged in new and used French oak barriques for 13 months followed by an additional 8 months in the bottle. This blend is a deep red in colour; and exhibits a bouquet with hints of berries, chocolate, cigar box, pepper and mineral notes. Tasty and full-bodied, with strong tannins imparting the particular style of this very unique varietal. (6 x 75 cl)
