Description:
The 120 hectare Greppone Mazzi estate produces Ruffino's Brunello di Montalcino, it is located east of the small town of Montalcino, in the heart of the historical Brunello production area. With its altitude of 450-500 meters above sea level, this is the most elevated part of the hill which constitutes the DOCG of Montalcino. This area is known as 'dei Greppi' because of its landscape formed by steep, rugged hills. Thanks to its almost unlimited longevity and flavour complexity, the Brunello di Montalcino Greppone Mazzi is truly a special wine. The golden star which shines on the Greppone Mazzi label is a symbol of the priviliged position which this wine holds within Ruffino's portfolio (6 x 75 cl)
Ruffino TENUTA GREPPONEMAZZIBrunellodiMontalcino DOCG
Description: Intensely ruby, dry, full-bodied wine of elegant proportions. Pronounced classic bouquet reminiscent of violets, and lingering aromas and flavours. World famous as a Chianti producer, during the last 25 years Ruffino have diversified their production to become one of Tuscany’s most important ambassadors for quality wine. The Folonari family’s strategy of acquiring and developing “tenimenti” – individual estates in specialised zones – has given their portfolio great variety and personality. Ruffino now owns a total of 1,500 hectares of land including 400 under wine. This diversity reflects the best of both modern and traditional winemaking. The Ruffino flagship has always been the magnificent Riserva Ducale Chianti Classico, which was originally the private reserve of the Duke of Aosta. Ruffino’s new style of wines is well represented by Libaio, a delicious, fresh, lightly perfumed blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio (6 x 75 cl) Price: £178.97
