The Shiraz from The Riddoch Run vineyards is harvested from vines growing in very shallow soil, which reduces crop yields, but produces intense, spicy, blackcurrant and peppery flavours that are enhanced by maturation in predominantly French oak barriques. Rich, flavoursome and balanced by fine-grained tannins, this wine can be enjoyed early or cellared for 6-8 years. (12 x 75 cl)

Wynns Coonawarra Estate Cabernet/Shiraz/Merlot South Australia
Description: The reputation of Wynns Coonawarra Estate stretches back four decades to 1951 when David Wynn recognised the potential quality of Coonawarra's wines. He purchased the original cellars built by John Riddoch in 1896 and began a winemaking legacy that continues to this day. The only blend in the range, Wynns Coonawarra Estate Cabernet/Shiraz/Merlot captures all the elegant fruit character that Coonawarra has to offer in a wine that drinks best while relatively young. The Cabernet provides flavour, length and structure; the Shiraz imparts a spicy complexity and richness, while the Merlot adds softness. The resulting red offers a rich balance of varietal characters in a smooth and approachable wine. Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon , Shiraz and Merlot . Oak Maturation: Matured for 10 months in a mix of new and used American and French oak barrels. Colour: Deep red with purple hues. Nose: Fragrant, leafy aromas with hints of mint and eucalyptus underlined with dusty oak. Palate: The palate is earthy and supple with soft, dark, berry fruit with a spicy finish and fresh aftertaste. This wine is made for current drinking, thus would only benefit from short-term cellaring. (6 x 75 cl)

Balnaves of Coonawarra SPARKLING NV Cabernet Sauvignon South Australia
Description: Rich and complex with blackcurrant, blackberry and sweet earth mature Coonawarra Cabernet characters, this wine is ready to drink on release, however it will gain complexity and softness with careful cellaring. Drink very cold during summer as a refreshing start to any meal. Produced by Balnaves since 1992 this wine is made in the traditional style of Australian Sparkling Burgundies although most of these are made with Shiraz. Balnaves have chosen Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to make this modern sparkling burgundy as we believe Cabernet Sauvignon, of all the grapes grown in Coonawarra, shows the most character and consistency. The base blend was put together and matured in well seasoned French oak for 12 months and then tiraged in July . The wine was again matured in bottles on yeast lees for 19 months to gain softness and complexity followed by disgorging in February . Mature vintage port and concentrated grape juice was used to sweeten the final wine, . (6 x 75 cl)

McWilliams ICON Shiraz Coonawarra South Australia
Description: This is a medium-bodied wine with a lingering dry tannin finish. Colour: Rich burgundy. Bouquet: Complex, savoury nose of spice, white pepper, blackberry and ripe aromas combine with characters of cedar oak, toast and vanilla. Palate: A refined savoury palate of plum and blackberry fruit flavours integrated with complex spice nutmeg, cinnamon and white pepper characters. Well integrated toasty cedar and vanilla oak flavours are present, derived from barrel fermentation and maturation. Cellaring: Drinking well now, but will develop further with four to eight years in the cellar. Winemaker Notes: After crushing, the must was fermented in headed-down stainless steel fermenters. To assist extraction of colour and flavour, the juice was pumped over three times a day for seven days. The juice was then drained from the tank and the skins pressed. The wine completed primary and malolactic fermentation in a combination of new and used American and French oak barrels. Following fermentation, the wine was racked off lees and returned to the same barrels, where it was matured for 20 months. Premium fruit for this wine was sourced from McWilliam's vineyards in the famous Coonawarra region, in South Australia. The fruit was harvested in mid March to early April. (12 x 75 cl)
