Arnaldo Caprai Montefalco RESERVA Rosso Umbria Description: Montefalco Rosso Riserva is the result of years of in-depth research studies carried out by the Arnauldo Caprai winery to find the best growing conditions and wine-making techniques for the production of this elegant Sangiovese based wine. This wine proves that a noble variety such as Sangiovese can yield great qualitative results in Umbria too. Soft, elegant, with silky tannins and a lingering aftertaste, it shows notes of wild berries and spices beautifully brought together in a harmonious whole. The vinification process includes a prolonged period of fermentation and maceration , in order to achieve the best and most complete extraction of phenolics. After racking, the wine remains in stainless steel tanks for about 4 months. It is then aged in Large Slavonian and French Oak barrels for over 20 months. The wine has a ruby red with bright purple reflections colour and a fully developed nose with notes of intense wild berries and spices, well-balanced with a delicate aroma of vanilla.
