This cuvée is the symbol of the expertise of our House ; Gauthier has all the qualities of a leading brand : consistency of flavour and depth of fragrance. Produced from the three noble grape varieties of Champagne, this wine is a harmonious blend of 40% Chardonnay, to give finesse, elegance and delicacy, 35% Pinot Noir for structure and 25% Pinot Meunier for balance and for fruit. Description: Brilliant straw colour with copper highlights. Fine, persistent froth forming a noticeable ring. The nose is dominated by woodland flowers, apples, pears and above all, candied fruit. Rich and varied aromas, full of delicacy and subtlety. As wine opens up, pronounced hazelnut notes are evident. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, delicately sweet and well rounded, in full harmony with the complex aromas. Definite fresh fruit notes. The wine develops on a very silky structure. A fresh and assertive finish, boding well for this exquisite wine. Blend 43 % Pinot Noir 42 % Pinot Meunier 15 % Chardonnay Crus in the blend : Bassuet, Channes, Cuis, Férébrianges, Grauves, Hautvillers, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Venteuil. Description: Founded in 1846 by the brothers Jules and Auguste Devaux, the Champagne House of Devaux was taken over by Madame Augusta Devaux, one of Champagne's great characters who ran the company with much energy and skill. The positive impact that she made on the company lead it to be renamed Maison Veuve Devaux when she died. Today the House of Veuve A. Devaux is located in the magnificent setting of Domaine de Villeneuve and is part of co-operative that has some 800 growers contributing to the blends, making it the largest Champagne house in the region. Located in the Aube area of the Champagne region, Devaux has stayed true to its roots with the blends having a heavy leaning towards the softer Pinot Noir grape. This is reflected in the composition of the Champagne blend, made from 2/3 Pinot Noir and 1/3 Chardonnay while it exclusively uses only the first pressing of the grapes. This stylish cuvÉe is then aged for a minimum of 3 years in the cellars before release. A classic Piont Noir nose showing white flowers is followed by citrus fruits flavours on the palate. Description: The colour is a soft pink with orange and salmon highlights Fine froth forming a creamy ring in the glass. The nose is intense and clean with notes of slightly candied small red fruit, especially wild strawberry. It carries suggestions of almond and red currant jelly. Good weight on the palate. Attack is slightly acid, then red fruit are back to the fore with black and red currants. Mouth is fleshy, fresh and tender. Definitely balanced with very silky texture. The finish is lively, not aggressive, with persistent length. A delicately soft rosé. Blend 47 % Pinot Noir 40 % Pinot Meunier 13 % Chardonnay Crus in the blend : Bassuet, Bouzy, Channes, Cuis, Férébrianges, Grauves, Hautvillers, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Les Riceys and Venteuil.
