Yellow straw in colour with greenish tinges with a very fine and persistent perlage, intense, fresh perfume with hints of laurel and flowers. Entrepreneur Vittorio Moretti’s success in the building industry allowed him to indulge his passion for wine in the creation of a small estate. It began virtually as a hobby, but over the years it became the focus of Moretti’s work. With the gifted enologist Mattia Vezzola at the helm since 1980, Bellavista now produce wines of real finesse and individuality. The 50 hectares of vineyards are cultivated according to organic principles, and planting densities are high in order to limit yields per vine. In cellars carved into the hillside above Lake Iseo, vinification reflects both avant garde techniques and many of the traditions of Champagne. Long ageing on the lees in bottle is de rigueur for the sparkling wines, and the barrique is employed with great subtlety. For the Franciacorta wines, 40% of the juice is barrel-fermented. Description: Ultimately, the reputation of a great Champagne house is based in its skill in blending a consistently fine flagship wine, rather than the vintage Champagnes, which follow exceptional weather. In Champagne, the style of a House is always more significant than the style of a single year, so the re-known of Veuve Clicquot is measured by the ongoing performance of Yellow Label. It is the sturdiness of Pinot Noir, which gives the Yellow Label its classical structure, with a touch of Pinot Meunier to add roundness. Chardonnay brings a certain elegance and finesse, essential for the harmony and balance of the wine. Grapes from as many as 60 different vineyards go to the blending of Yellow Label. Traditionally, the proportion of each grape variety used is 55% Pinot Noir, 15% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay. These figures vary slightly from year to year according to conditions. The blender has to achieve the total consistency of taste, colour and bouquet which makes Yellow Label so immediately recognisable, so utterly reliable. Faustino SEMI DRY Sparkling Cava
Description: Don Eleuterio Martinez Arzok was born in Barriobusto. In 1861 he bought a house and lands in Oyon and founded the Faustino Group. At the turn of the century the vineyards were totally destroyed by phylloxera. His son Don Faustino Martinez Perez de Albeniz was born in 1904 and, in 1920, he helped his father rebuild and restore the vineyards. Faustino began bottling their wines in 1930 and by 1957 Don Julio Faustino Martinez, the third generation, took over the family business and in 1960, the Faustino brand was created in honour of his father. The Macabeo and Chardonnay grapes come from the bodega's own vineyards. Aged 18 months this is a greenish lemon yellow coloured wine with fine bubbles with good beade. This Cava is complex with fruity aromas and floral notes while it is smooth in the mouth with a perfect balance between acidity and sugars, culminating in a pleasant finish. (12 x 75 cl)
