Adriano Ramos Pinto 30 YEAR OLD Tawny Port
Description: The Ramos-Pinto 30-Year old Tawny is amber colored with orange and garnet tones. The delicate green highlights of the meniscus are characteristic of old cask-aged wines, and illustrate the quality and advanced age of this fine port. This complex, perfectly balanced port shows rich aromas of dried fruit and vanilla. Agitate the glass and spice aromas of cinnamon and cocoa are liberated. In the mouth, the attack is fresh, fine and delicate. Ripe, dried fruit softly merges with almond and hazelnut, culminating in vanilla flavors which linger gracefully on the palate. Made from Ramos-Pinto's estate vineyards in the best production zones of the Delimited Douro Region, the 30-Year Tawny is a blend of wines that have been aging in oak for an average of three decades in the winery's cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia. Chateau Cissac Cru Bourgeois Haut Medoc
Description: The first traces of the building that is now Chateau Cissac and the village of Cissac go back as far as the Romans. In fact, the village of Cissac was a relatively important Roman settlement. Tombs have been found in the village and in the grounds dating from the period of Merovee, the father of Charlemagne. However, the house as we know it today dates from 1769 and Chateau Cissac extends over 50 hectares. It is from these vines that the Grand vin Chateau Cissac and its second wine, Reflets du Chateau Cissac are produced. The vines are about 30 years old with 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot grape varieties grown on fine gravel over chalk. Each vine variety does not produce similar quantities each year. However, the proportions on the various single-variety wines that are assembled to make Chateau Cissac are strictly respected. There are ten huge wooden vats at Chateau Cissac, constructed in the great Medocain tradition. The hand picked grapes are Vinified in oak vats under temperature control then the wine is matured 18 months in barrels of which 30 to 40% are new. Ferraton Pere et Fils LES DIONNIERES Ermitage AC
Description: The son of a wine producer and a wine producer himself, Jean Ferraton founded his own vineyard in 1946 in the Hermitage and Crozes-Hermitage appellations together with his father-in-law, Jean Reverdy. He passed on his passion to his son, Michel who developed the estate by extending the vineyards and adding the current premises in Tain L'Hermitage. In 1994 his son, Samuel Ferraton took over and has continued the family's art of wine-making, preserving the knowledge and learning that have been handed down to him. The Syrah grapes are selected from 30 years old vines and once in the winery barrel ageing occurs between 14 and 18 months depending on the vintage to produce a most peppery, herbaceous and fragrant style. Although closed as well as austere in the finish, the complex nose of black fruits, earth, dried herbs, pepper and minerals is followed by a medium-bodied, tightly-knit wine with high tannin and plenty of structure. (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine Brusset Cotes du Rhone AC

The vines for this wine are over 30 years old and the harvest is all by hand. The vinification method is traditional with destalking and the separate vinification of each variety. Fermentation takes place over 12 days in vats, and then ageing takes place for about 10 months with 70% in vats and the remaining 30% in 2 (6 x 75 cl)

Champalou CUVEE MOELLEUSE Vouvray
Description: Catherine and Didier Champalou are young growers in Vouvray who, since 1984 have assembled a small domaine with vines averaging 25 years, planted solely with Chenin Blanc. The aim is to bring out the maximum expression of character from the grape while reflecting the different terroirs on which the vines are planted. Thus by applying rigorous standards, they have created one of the most exciting wineries in Vouvray. Didier Champalou's 19ha vineyard produces exceptional wine almost every year. This dessert wine is made from 30 year old Chenin Blanc vines and the botrytised grapes are selected by hand during mid-October. After pressing and racking, fermentation takes place in oak casks to allow the wine to develop more elegantly, while the bottling took place in May. Inevitably, yields are restricted due to such practices. La cuvee Moelleuse is a golden colour and is already developing more rounded and rich characteristics. It has a wonderfully intense nose of honey and apricots which is echoed on the palate and all underscored by a wonderfully vibrant fresh acidity. (6 x 75 cl)
