Domaine de Rimauresq Cotes de Provence Cru Classe ROSE
Description: A pretty, pale pink Rose with very delicate floral aromas and an elegant, refined palate showing gentle, candied red fruits. Fantastic as an aperitif or very nice with lobster and grilled fish. Domaine de Rimauresque Cru Classe is a highly-reputed estate, situated on the Cotes du Provence. The estate encompasses 46 hectares of prime vineyards with an average vine age of 40 years . Situated on the harsh mineral soils at the foothills of the Maures Massif, the vines are protected by the sheltering effects of the mountain from the harsh Mediterranean sun. This allows a longer ripening period and better fruit development, while replacement planting is now ensuring an increased vine density of up to 5,000 vines per hectare in an ongoing drive to improve quality. The estate owned by the Wemyss family produce whites full of character from Rollo , floral scented roses from a blend of Cinsault, Tribouren and Mourvedre. Additionally the red is both weighty, yet elegant with a tight, firm structure and real terroir character, produced from Cabernet Sauvignon with a slug of Carignan and Syrah for warmth and opulence and just a hint of Mourvedre for spice and perfume. Description: A domaine is not the sum of their interests. It is the sum of their gifts. St. Exupery’s beautiful words could have been written for the Sabons, proprietors of Domaine de la Janasse. Aimé Sabon first established his cellar in 1973 and now owns a total of 50ha including 13ha in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The best sites are planted on a mix of galet stones, sands and clay and provide exceptional fruit. Since taking over the winemaking from his father in 1991, Christophe Sabon has set this 45 hectare property on the road to becoming the Beaucastel of the future. Tiny yields from the old vines give great intensity of fruit, while the flavours are preserved by temperature control, and expertly sculpted by judicious us of barrique. Christophe’s talent is to express the brightness and intensity of the grape, and capture all the nuances of terroir. Sourced from the single vineyard 'Bussiere' which is a mix of galet stones, sands and clay. The vines yield a respectably low 45hl/ha and are hand harvested. Ageing is in 30% new barriques for 12 months. A blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Syrah, 10% Grenache and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon this wine is a beautiful example of Southern French grape varieties; rich in colour with ripe, red fruit, well-married tannins and herbaceous, spicy flavours full of southern warmth. Domaine Des Vieux Pruniers Rose Sancerre
Description: Domaine de Vieux Pruniers is situated in the heart of Bué, one of the finest villages in the Sancerre appellation. Production is small, with a 'hands on' approach in the vineyard and minimal handling in the winery. Made exclusively from Pinot Noir it the grapes come from small vineyards that yield small parcels of fruit. The grapes are harvested and vinified seperately in stainless steeel, temperature controlled tanks with the greatest care possible to respect the delicate, fruity characters. During the fermentation the wine is racked off the skins before too much colour or tannin is extracted and rested in steel tanks until blending, filtering and bottling. Possesses a lightly aromatic, juicy nose of strawberries with hints of crushed leaves. The palate is dry, light and fruity with a mouthwatering layer of red fruits covering its vivacious, mineral acidity that lends elegance and poise to the long, crisp finish. (6 x 75 cl)

Domaine de l'Arlot CLOS DE ARLOT 1er Cru Nuits-Saint-Georges
Description: Domaine de L'Arlot takes its name from the 'Clos de L'Arlot', a ten acre vineyard surrounding the elegant house, which in turn takes its name from a small river that runs through the village of Premeaux and underground under the Clos. Most unusually for Burgundy, Jean Pierre de Smet did not inherit the domaine from his family and only came to the area and wine-making in 1977. He then studied oenology at Dijon, following which he was invited by AXA Insurance in 1987 to be a partner, manager and wine-maker in the domaine they were about to buy. De Smet's skill and willingness to innovate along with the inherent quality for the terroir have combined to project Domaine de L'Arlot to the very top with De Smet picking up countless medals for his wines. Clos-de-l'Arlot is a 4ha plot in Nuits-Saint-Georges and it has produced a light red coloured wine. Displaying plenty of Pinot Character the smoky, plummy nose gives way to a rich, soft palate with a complex finish. With the exception of two parcels in Vosne Romanée, the vineyards are located South of Nuits-Saint-Georges in the Cote de Nuits. There are many old vines, some of them over fifty years old, but the average is about twenty-five years. Strict pruning and very light fertilisation ensure very low yields to ensure that the very best quality is achieved in the grapes. The 'lutte raisonnee' approach informs viticultural practices, bringing them as close to organic as is reasonably feasible and only spraying as little as possible when it is absolutely necessary. This encourages a more beneficial ecosystem in the vineyard, allowing nature to establish its own checks and balances. In the winery intervention is kept to a strict minimum and yeasts are 100% wild. After a manual harvest, whole bunches are gently pressed, followed by a slow fermentation with temperatures being allowed to reach a maximum peak of a little over 30°c for a day. The wine then undergoes two to three weeks post-fermentation maceration, and fining, if it occurs at all, is carried out using fresh egg whites. The wine is then matured for just under two years in Domaine-seasoned Allier new oak. (12 x 75 cl)

Domaine de Bel Air Pouilly Fume Pouilly sur Loire
Description: This Pouilly Fumé has a classically gooseberryish character on the nose and is full flavoured and rich on the palate. It is balanced by plenty of concentrated leafy fruit and a lovely fresh acidity that lingers long finish. The Montes family at Domaine de Bel Air are excellent viticulteurs. They have 14 hectares of vineyard and in the past sold most of their production in bulk. Now that their winemaker daughter Katia has arrived on the scene the estate is producing excellent and serious wines. The cellar is small but modern, and the winemaking modern, intelligent and non-interventionist. (12 x 75 cl)
