Domaine Brusset Cotes du Rhone AC
Description: This 90 hectare estate in the heart of Southern Rhone was founded by André Brusset in 1947. The domaine, based in the ancient village of Cairanne, is now run by his son Daniel, and grandson Laurent, who was a winemaker. Yields are well below that required by law, and the fruit is of the highest quality. Vinification is traditional, with a small proportion of the harvest undergoing whole bunch fermentation in order to retain the fruitiness of the grapes. The vines for this wine are over 30 years old and the harvest is all by hand. The vinification method is traditional with destalking and the separate vinification of each variety. Fermentation takes place over 12 days in vats, and then ageing takes place for about 10 months with 70% in vats and the remaining 30% in 2 (6 x 75 cl) Price: £66.94

Domaine du Rochoy Sancerre
Description: Founded in 1850 in the heart of the prestigious Sancerre appellation, Domaine Laporte is renowned for its quality. Located in the Loire Valley 200 km south of Paris, the Domaine Laporte Sancerre vineyards cover approximately 2,300 ha . Domaine du Rochoy is a 10 hectare slope, unique in the region of Sancerre. Soaking up the heat in the daytime, the flint rocks of the vineyard slowly cool in the night. After racking at low temperature, the wine ferments during 10 days in stainless steel tanks at temperatures ranging from 15º to 20ºC . Neither yeasting nor malolactic fermentation is employed. The wine is matured on its fine lees for 5 months and is then vacuum-bottled . Only high quality natural corks are used. The wine undergoes an additional maturation of at least one month in the bottle. Undergoing the vinification process has helped the grapes to ripen more quickly and results in the production of a rich, well-balanced white Sancerre with a fine flinty tang. (12 x 75 cl) Price: £186.82
