The naming of this rare old vine Barossa Shiraz comes from the entwined story of England's 'Mad King' George III, the operatic collaboration of composer Sir Peter Maxwell Davies and poet Randolph Stow, and the suite of eight paintings of artist Rod Schubert , who was inspired by the 1993 Barossa Music Festival performance of "Eight Songs for a Mad King". These paintings are the labels for the wine. Winemaker's Tasting Notes: Colour: Attractive deep garnet hue Bouquet: A pleasing integration of dark cherries with French oak smokiness Palate: Satin smooth flavours of plum and chocolate enveloped in French oak characters of vanilla/nutmeg. It has a rich middle palate, and finishes long with subtle fine-grained tannin. (6 x 75 cl)
