Concha y Toro ISLA NEGRA Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Chile
Description: This hand harvested wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot and a little Carmenere , Syrah as well as Aspiran Bouchet . Once in the winery this wine spends 6 months in French oak barrels and wine maker Adolfo Hurtado considered: 'This Cabernet Sauvignon epitomises the delicious fruit-forward characteristics of this variety with its rich ruby red colour and plum, raspberry and blackcurrant nose. Elegant and structured in the mouth, there are traces of blackcurrant and very subtle mint on the palate. A wine of pronounced tipicity, this Cabernet is a great example of the first variety through which Chile’s Central Valley became known as a vine-growing paradise.' (12 x 75 cl)

Liberty Wines CALBUCO Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot Central Valley Chile
Description: The Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot from Calbuco has great depth of colour, with perfumes of blackcurrant and a hint of tobacco leaf from the addition of the Merlot , which gives way to a soft, ripe rounded fruit character, with supple tannins and a juicy finish. In 2005 winemaker Alberto Antonini visited this producer to look at their vineyards and wines in tank and, following his input, they have now put together these blends which we think offer superb value within the Chilean sector. Calbuco is a volcano in the Andes, as striking a symbol of Chile as its wine. (12 x 75 cl)

Kendall Jackson COLLAGE Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot California
Description: Part of Jackson Wine Estates, Collage winery is commited to quality and is rooted in the belief that only the best grapes and winemaking techniques, with an emphasis on blending, can produce outstanding wines. In this wine the fruit is sourced from vineyards located in California’s finest winemaking regions where fruit ripens slowly and evenly, developing concentrated aromas and flavours. Artisan winemaking, including use of small French and American oak barrels for fermentation and ageing, brings each lot to its full potential. Masterful blending is the final step, assembling vineyard lots to consistently create wines of intense character and flavouras a result Collage is one of America’s most awarded wineries. Winemaster Randy Ullom selects outstanding vineyard lots to create a symphony of flavours — each example shows layers of complexity and a harmonious balance. The results are unique, dual-varietal blends that showcase the best of California and a new, sophisticated approach to appealing wines. Once in the winery this blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot will spend 16 months in French and American oak barrels, while Winemaster Randy Ullom considered: 'By combining two varieties in the Collage series of wines we create a synergistic effect—and the Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot is no exception. Enjoy a forward aroma of Black Cherry and spice or dried Provence herbs. This wine continues to display red fruit flavours and a toasty hint of vanillin and spice as the soft dusty tannins give way to a lingering smooth finish.' (12 x 75 cl)
