Jean-Claude Boisset Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaut St Jacques
Description: A large village at the start of the Côte de Nuits, Gevrey Chambertin has one of the largest vineyard areas: no fewer than 330 hectares in production, 82 of which are Premier Cru. Elevation varies between 240 and 280 metres. The soil is limestone, with a good proportion of clay marl originating in scree from the Combe de Lavaux, lending a well-rounded power. 'Lavaux Saint Jacques' is one of the most famed Premiers Crus, often equalling the quality of some of the Grands Crus. The direct southern exposure is without doubt one of the key factors in its tender fleshiness and very prominent silkiness. (6 x 75 cl)
