While his wine style holds back on the use of new oak only using small proportions in the village and 1er Cru wines the result is a restrained wine with steely concentration and elegance. The 2001 vintage Mersault has aromas and flavours of white fruit and custard with hints of orange and spice. A classic Burgundy style delicate, fine with great richness and power and a long finish.
