Description: This Gevrey-Chambertin Le Creot has a good depth of ruby red colour with a touch of brick on the rim. It is intensely perfumed with red fruits and some spicy, smoky notes. The palate is concentrated and powerful, with excellent depth of ripe, rounded fruit, a solid backbone of chunky, tightly-knit tannins and a long, smoky finish. Gevrey-Chambertin has 330 hectares under production at the northern end of the Cote de Nuits. Here, Le Creot, is located on a gentle slope near Brochon, considered to be one of the best areas in the appellation. ‘Cré’ in old French refers to the presence of chalk in the soil and ‘ot’ refers to the height of the vineyard on the slope.
