The traditional Collio style is the focus of Livio and Giorgio Marega, with their challenge to get back to traditional methods in vinification, using the traditional barrels of two and five hectolitres, called "Holbar". Malvasia Istriana is made from vines up to 35-years-old located in Gradiscutta. 50% of the must is fermented in oak barrels called 'Holbar' and aged for at least eight months. The other 50% is stainless steel vinification. After extraction from the barrels, the two parts are assembled in a tank and remain there for almost one year. This wine has been made with great care from the vineyard to the winery to deliver an attractive straw yellow coloured wine with greenish tints, an extremely aromatic bouquet of vanilla, green pepper and sambuca.
