Raspberry, violets and blackberries dominate the nose with a touch of vanilla enhancing the berries on the palate. 13% A 50-50 blend of Argentina's best red grape, Malbec and Bonarda, a long-term Italian ex-pat that is doing great things in the hills around Mendoza. Bodegas Eschorihuela HIGH ALTITUDE Malbec Shiraz Mendoza Argentina
Description: TASTING NOTE The philosophy behind this wine is to combine the sweet, ripe and fruity character of Malbec with the spicy, black fruit flavours of Syrah. The result is a pleasant, sweet, aromatic wine which is highly palatable, with an excellent concentration and body. Grapes are sourced from 12 and 20 year old vineyards in Agrelo, grown at an altitude of 1000m. The grapes are handpicked and then fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeast. WINEMAKERS NOTES Following 100% malo-lactic fermentation the wine is blended after the first racking to help marry the varietals. Finally 40% of the wine is aged for 8 months in 50% American and 50% French oak. (12 x 75 cl)
