Founded in 1967, Carpineto is a partnership between acclaimed winemakers Giovanni C. Sacchet and Antonio M. Zaccheo. Their original mission was to produce a world-class red wine from the Chianti Classico appellation. This was a radical departure from the marketplace of the times when most Chianti was still produced in the traditional winemaking style. Carpineto's visionary founders knew the untapped potential of the Tuscan landscape to produce truly great wines. By applying modern viticulture and winemaking techniques, they dramatically exceeded the quality standards of the day. Under their direction, Carpineto developed an award winning, international reputation for wines of matchless intensity and extract, as well as consistency vintage after vintage. Dogajolo is a young 'Super-Tuscan' made from traditional and international varieties, Sangiovese with Cabernet Sauvignon. This is an innovative wine, a young 'Super-Tuscan', whose characteristics are never found together in the same wine. Dogajolo combines the power and deep colors of a young wine, the elegance and balance given by wood ageing, as well as a fruity and fragrant bouquet. The two grape varieties are vinified separately, since they ripen at different times. Toward the end of fermentation they are blended and placed in small wooden casks where they slowly complete alcoholic and malolactic fermentation. This Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon blend shows youthful vigour, smoothness and a fruity, fragrant bouquet. The palate is full and soft with notes of cherries, vanilla and spice complemented by the great finish. Available in Jeroboam bottles. (1 x 3 Litres)

Tua Rita PERLATO DEL BOSCO Rosso Toscana
Description: Suvereto is a small, medieval town in the province of Livorno. Rita Tua and Virgilio Bisti acquired the estate in 1984. Additional vineyards were planted in 1988, 1997 and 1998 which means that fans of these limited wines can look forward to an increase in production as soon as the newest vines bear fruit. This tiny Tuscan estate has been the recipient of constant accolades for the explosively rich, full bodied wines produced. As of1998, Stefano Chioccioli has been the winemaker at this estate. Stefano is renowned in Italy for his expertise in both the vineyard and the cellar and also works with other high quality producers like Allegrini, I Giusti e Zanza and Fanti. Perlato del Bosco Rosso is 100% Sangiovese from the Perlato del Bosco vineyard. The grapes are harvested in late September to early October. Maceration of the skins in contact with the must lasts approximately 15 to 18 days while manually punching down on the cap for extraction. The wine is aged for 20 months in oak barrels followed by 6 months in the bottle before release. Deep purple colour with dark and very intense aromas of blackberry, cocoa and spice. Dense and spicy on the palate with a finish that lingers. (12 x 75 cl)

Poggio Argentiera FINISTERRE Rosso Toscana IGT
Description: Gianpaolo Paglia, an agronomist born and bred in Maremma, and Justine Keeling, an English marketing manager, bought the estate in 1997. They started making Morellino di Scansano , with the existing 6 Ha of old and high quality producing vineyards, whilst at the same time planting new vineyards using local varieties such as Sangiovese and Alicante. Additionally, they also built an modern winery and warehousing in 2002. Poggio Argentiera has emerged as one of Scansano's best wineries and it is today composed of two estates situated in two different areas of Tuscany's Maremma, near the town of Grosseto. At Podere Adua there is the head office, cellar as well as the winery and it is close to the Maremma Natural Park, in the coastal region of Grosseto. The second estate, Podere Keeling, is found in the hilly area to the North of the Scansano district, towards Monte Amiata. Made from a 50/50 split of Alicante and Syrah, the wine was fermented completely in small, open French oak barrels aged more than three years. Malolactic fermentation and maturation in second and third use barrels , for between 16 and 18 months, followed by 8 months in bottle before release. Finisterre is an original Mediterranean blend with a strong personality. The two varieties, Alicante and Shiraz, show notes of liquorice, chocolate and olive oil tomatoes. This is wonderfully drinkable wine, with a bold structure, superb freshness and intriguing complexity. (6 x 75 cl)
