Chateau Duhart Milon MOULIN de DUHART Pauillac
Description: Owner of Chateau Lafite Rothschild for five generations, the Rothschild family has been based in this Bordeaux vineyard since 1868. High values and the respect of traditional methods make them passionate about harmony and excellence. Their wines bear witness to that passion year after year and their skills have patiently enriched the wines through the generations, with world-renowned success. Domain Baron de Rothschild skills have served other exceptional Bordeaux wines and vineyards, which share the same values of humility and high standards. Over the years, Domain Baron de Rothschild has expanded its offerings through the acquisition of Chateau Duhart-Milon, 4th growth wine from Pauillac, of Chateau Rieussec, 1er growth Sauternes wines, of Chateau l'Evangile in Pomerol, of Château Paradis Casseuil in Entre-Deux-Mers and of Château Peyre-Lebade, Bordeaux wines in Haut Medoc. Recently, Domain Baron de Rothschild in 1999 purchased Chateau d'Aussieres. Moulin de Hart is Chateau Duhart-Milon's second wine, and it is selected from vats of the 'Grand Vin'. The origin of the name comes from the former presence of a windmill on the Carruades, next to the Duhart-Milon vineyard. In general, the grapes are selected from the youngest part of the vineyard. Moulin de Duhart has several characteristics similar to the fine wine, but with a lesser potential for ageing as its ageing in barrels is much shorter. Therefore it best consumed younger than its more robust counterpart. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon 55 to 60% and Merlot 40 to 45%, spending 10 months in two year old oak barrels and that has produced a powerful and fruity wine. The structure is deep with firm tannins while it has great persistency with a lot of elegance. (6 x 75 cl)

Chateau Lafon-Rochet 4eme Cru Classe Saint Estephe
Description: Located in a superb region between Lafite Rothschild and Cos d'Estournel, Lafon Rochet has some of the most prestigious wine-producing neighbours in the world. Hence the Chateau adopted his name to become Chateau Lafon-Rochet, and the Chateau remained in the Lafon family for over two centuries. The family invested a lot of time into producing good wine and their efforts were rewarded when the Chateau was included in the 1855 Classification. 40% new barrels. Parker, 89+. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Ducru-Beaucaillou 2eme Cru Saint Julien
Description: This classic, long-lasting, exquisite wine has ranked for decades as amongst the best in Bordeaux. The Borie family, owners since 1941, make this Saint-Julien wine in the traditional way. The wine always requires a decade's patience, combining colour, strength, fruit and finesse in an exceptionally harmonious whole. The chateau itself is very impressive being a great wide building between two square towers added in 1880 by the then owners. "...a knockout nose of minerals, liquorice, cassis and an unmistakable lead pencil smell that I often associate with top vintages of Lafite-Rothschild. It is sweet and full-bodied yet unbelievably rich with no sense of heaviness or flabbiness. Anticipated maturity, 2008-2035." Parker, 96. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau d'Aussieres AUSSIERES Rouge Vin de Pays de Languedoc
Description: Owner of Chateau Lafite Rothschild for five generations, the Rothschild family has been based in this Bordeaux vineyard since 1868. High values and respect of traditional methods make them passionate about harmony and excellence in the wines they produce. Their wines are a witness to that passion year after year and their skills have patiently enriched the wines through the generations, with world-renowned success. Domain Baron de Rothschild skills have served other exceptional Bordeaux wines and vineyards, which share the same values of humility and high standards. Over the years, Domain Baron de Rothschild has expanded its offerings through the acquisition of Chateau Duhart-Milon, 4th growth wine from Pauillac, of Chateau Rieussec, 1er growth Sauternes wines, of Chateau l'Evangile in Pomerol, of Chateau Paradis Casseuil in Entre-Deux-Mers and of Chateau Peyre-Lebade, Bordeaux wines in Haut Medoc. Recently, Domain Baron de Rothschild, in 1999, purchased Chateau d'Aussieres. Aussieres Red is a marriage of Languedoc and Bordeaux varietals, brought together in varied proportions depending on the vintage. The density and elegance of the Cabernets and Merlot are associated with the strength of the Syrah and, sometimes depending on vintage, the character of the Mourvedre. This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Syrah and Mourvedre has produced a lovely intense dark red coloured wine. Showing a very open, expressive nose with a complexity of aromas, from each grape variety, melds together with notes of cedar wood, cherries and spices. Full and supple on the front palate, with lots of fresh fruit flavours this wine is backed up with fine, ripe tannins giving way to a lengthy finish that shows the characteristic elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. (12 x 75 cl)

Aussieres’s Chardonnay is a limited production of only a few hectares, with the aim to produce a fresh, delicate wine with harmonious fruity aromas. Located on the coldest part of the vineyard, the parcels are cultivated using modern methods: cover crop between rows to help control vine vigour and drip irrigation in order to optimise the ripening of the grapes in a region where summer drought can sometimes cause great damage. Quinta do Carmo DOM MARTINHO Alentejano Portugal
Over the years, Domain Baron de Rothschild has expanded its offerings through the acquisition of several french Chateau's as well as ventures in Argentina. However, in 1992, Julio Bastos, owner of Quinta do Carmo called on Domaines Barons de Rothschild in order to renovate the property. The primary goal was to combine the traditional Alentejo winemaking techniques with the skill of the DBR teams and also unite the expression of traditional portuguese grape varieties with other new and noble varieties thus enhancing complexity and elegance. The plan has led to new plantations and the renovation of the vineyards, including systematic tying up of the vines and a limitation of yields. Major investments were also made in the Herdade das Carvalhas chais, including a new cellar, the purchase of stainless steel vats with temperature monitoring and pneumatic presses. Now integrated into Domaines Barons de Rothschild , Quinta do Carmo features a 150 hectare vineyard that is gradually reaching maturity. This renewal has done much to enhance the wines, and the first vintages under the new management reveals clearly the excellent combination of the 'Terroir' and the 'savoir faire!' This wines name comes from one of the key parcels named Dom Martinho and is Quinta do Carmo's second wine. A blend of Tempranillo, or Aragonez as it is known locally, Alicante and Periquita that make up 60% (12 x 75 cl)

Bodega Caro AMANCAYA Mendoza Argentina
Description: Owner of Chateau Lafite Rothschild for five generations, the Rothschild family has been based in this Bordeaux vineyard since 1868. High values and the respect of traditional methods make them passionate about harmony and excellence. Their wines bear witness to that passion year after year and their skills have patiently enriched the wines through the generations, with world-renowned success. Over the years, Domain Baron de Rothschild has expanded its offerings through the acquisition of several french Chateau's as well as ventures in Portugal. However, in 1998 the Caro Project, based in Mendoza, Argentina was started. The idea was raised about forming a partnership between Domaines Barons de Rothschild and the Catena family. Initial enthusiasm was rapidly transformed into a project to produce a single wine combining French and Argentinean cultures. Amancaya, like its sister wine Caro, has been the latest development and presents a harmonious balance between the Argentinean and Bordeaux styles. A more fruity style wine coming from the higher percentage of Malbec has produced an intense purple-red colour with aromas of ripe red cherries and wild strawberries, underpinned by notes of smoky vanilla from the oak. On the palate it has good concentration but is both fresh and full. Balanced and very attractive with tannins of great quality this is a wine to enjoy to the long finish. The word Amancaya is the native indian name of a flower of the Andes that you can find in the Mendoza area. (12 x 75 cl)

Chateau Cos d'Estournel 2eme Cru Classe Saint Estephe
Description: This 'Super-Second' Chateau, which overlooks Chateau Lafite-Rothschild, has a reputation for making wines of impeccable quality, achieved by owner Bruno Prats. Stylistically closer to the wines of Pauillac than those of Saint Estephe, Cos d'Estournel is typically a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. These wines are charaterised as full-bodied, dark, brooding tannic wines when young which develop a complexity and intensity that can rival many top growths from Pauillac. This vintage is an intense red colour with complex aromas of burnt wood, spices, coffee and ripe fruits. Admirable in the mouth for the melting tannins and the velvetiness of its texture this wine is showing a fleshy tight-knit structure which opens out fully culminating in a wonderfully persistent mouth.
